1 and 2 are great sporty looks! Have you tried the dress sans hose? Perhaps add a scarf to add some color around the face? Or perhaps a white jean jacket a little more cropped? I have made some poor color choices in the past and have managed to salvage with the scarf trick.

Is the gray in #3 different than the one in #1 (besides one being heathered and the other not). If you want to try and make the gray dress work, along with the scarf/jacket/topper in a more flattering color, you could also try using it as a lower layer with a cropped sweater over the top. I rather like the oversized jean jacket but think it's probably better suited to pants outfits. The other two outfits look good to me. A bold piece of jewelry could add a little extra polish to #1 if desired.

Love the cuddly sweater in #1 and the shiny boots in #2 -- I'm thinking those two pieces would also be fun to pair together! To be honest, I don't think the grey dress is a terrible colour on you from what I can see, but it is a little clashy with the grey tights. Greys are *so* tricky to match well. Tights in a deep neutral like navy or burgundy, or even in a very bright colour like fire-engine red could be fun. The great thing about an all-neutral ensemble is you can spice it up with whatever colour strikes your fancy!

#1 and #2 look super comfy and clean, yet still interesting.
Maybe you gravitate toward warmer colors by you face? In the first two outfits you have warm neutrals but #3 is all cool. Might look really different with a warm colored jacket.

Thank you all! Yes, maybe I'm leaning more towards higher contrast combinations. Food for thought, 3style! I will have to look for a scarf in a more flattering color, if I ever wear that dress again. Good advice!

From your body language in these poses, and what you posted above, it seems like you’re feeling most comfortable in outfit #2 at the beach. I’m thinking it’s not just that you like the olive and green, but that you feel more energized by a higher contrast combination of darker elements juxtaposed against white jeans. It feels more inspired than that in the first photo. The third outfit with the dress seems to be full of good basic neutral pieces, but I think you’re craving something to create more drama in the outfit.

Angie is amazing at creating zippy outfits from all neutrals, so you should definitely read her archive material if you haven’t already.

I like your beach outfit a lot!

The first one is cute, too, and I'd totally wear it on a day of casual errands

I like the trainers with the raw-hem jeans in outfit #1 and those are super fun (metallic??) ankle boots in outfit #2. Both outfits look crisp yet practical.

For outfit #3, I was going to suggest something similar to Joy -- add a scarf in a color that suits you. I rather like the jacket with the dress. I think the trouble I'm having with that outfit is that it's all neutrals, but each item is a *different* neutral shade. So it kind of lacks a focal point. I think either repeating a neutral shade or adding a pop of color could help pull the outfit together.

Swear the grey dress with a scarf or statement necklace in a flattering color to off-set the grey. Your could also wear a tank or tee under it in a color or neutral you like. If you wear black, navy or charcoal tights or leggings and same color tee under the dress, it may work out well.

Hello dear fabbers!

This forum never ceases to amaze me. I find so much inspiration in your posts and contributions. I've recently discovered Finds, and I'm having so much fun adding my wardrobe. It's very educational to get a good visual of my inventory! Adding my wardrobe combined with taking snaps of what I wear have brought on a couple of epiphanies already. I have had to cull some obviously unflattering items, lol.

Here's some recent WIW's.

#1: A "boring" outfit, but I like it and it fits my current lifestyle. I like the textures and silhouette. Neutrals are becoming my jam!

#2: A windy day at the beach, requiring I brought out my winter parka in the height of summer(!!!). I like the olive and navy, will be focusing on adding more of those colors to my wardrobe.

#3: A total crisis, lol. I'm keeping the jean jacket, although it's clearly not as cropped and sweet as I would like. I also realize I look horrible in this shade of gray! Sickly almost. The hose is definitely going. I just bought the dress, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt for now. Will not be wearing this combination again.

Thanks for any comments! You guys rock!
