Aw, thanks, Shevia. *wipes away a tear*

Angie, thanks so much for adding your opinion! It's pretty clear the shorter/cropped/tucked looks are the faves here! I am glad these are fashion forward, but I can see wearing them when they are not so cutting edge - like BF jeans, they have been in my style radar for years, just not easy to find. I totally get they are not everyone's cuppa, and I appreciate people making the effort to see beyond that - it's what makes YLF so fabulous.

(I will confess to hoarding a couple of extra pairs of the Gap SBFs knowing they will disappear one day from stores.)

These leather slouchies are *extremely* on trend, Una. They are THE leather bottoms on the 2013 Fall runway shows right now! You wear them really well and I'm impressed with the combinations that you've created here. To my eye, the shorter and tucked tops work best. Visually those proportions are most flattering. Well done!!

My faves are #4, #6 and #7. I love #2 too!

I'll admit to having a bit of a poison eye for the slouchy leather pants, but I like them in 2 and 7 in particular. I haven't quite managed to get my head around the volume-on-volume look, so I prefer the tops that are shorter or semi-tucked.

But 7 in particular is very rocker cool, IMHO.

My first favorite was #4. I also really like #5 but want to make some adjustments of an unknown nature. Overall I prefer cropped or semi-tucked I think. You do not look fat. You handled that uncalled for comment with aplomb, which speaks volumes about your character Una, which is even more flattering than the leather trousers, which I love.

Looks like you are sorted, but I echo the others, I like the more fitted or cropped silhouette with these. It sort of balances out the voluminous bottoms.

As for figure flattery, i think these are very flattering and the shape is intentional. I do think it more cutting edge fashion, so not everyone will be on board. That said, with the drape of these, I don't think anyone would see extra "body" in there versus it being fabric and intentional fit.

Wow, lots of really helpful feedback. The cropped looks seem to be favored, and that makes sense to me too - with all the volume it helps lengthen the leg line a bit.

Rae, the shirt is actually silk - a plaid silk Equipment shirt from fall that I loved but never picked up...

http://www.theiconic.com.au/Br.....53801.html

Jonesy, so happy to see you around! Yes, shoes would make a big difference. I'm in the process of a shoe/boot overhaul, selling a few that I've hung onto irrationally, and when those pay off I'll be looking at some better shoe options for the slouchy look, which I intend to embrace wholeheartedly!

Jeneva, the idea of intentionality is important to me, so thanks for bringing that up.

As for looking fat, I had to step back and think about this idea after my initial and sadly predictable reaction of "OH NO!". Obviously, I'm not thrilled with the F-word, and it's likely Anna's not the only one who might see that aspect. On the other hand, I'm certainly not always focused on conventional figure flattery. These are an XS and with all the room in them, I'm certain it's intentional. I've always liked to create volume on my bottom half to balance my shoulders and for the fun of a slouchy silhouette. I realize some will have a poison eye for this look and I'm okay with that - I have my own poison eyes.

And thank you to those who feel this can be a flattering look - it reassures me that I'm not out of my mind.

I like them all except for 5 and 6. 5 I think looks too sloppy and 6 the top just looks like it shrank. These looks don't look intentional, I guess, is the thing that I don't like. All the other looks are awesome and I can't even decide on a favorite...

5, 6 and 7 are my favorites, although I like them all, Una. These are just amazingly cool pants, but you wear them so easily and beautifully. I'm not preferring them with shorter tops, but I have a lot to learn about how to style slouchy pants.

I actually love ALL of them. The slouchier looks are super edgy, and the cropped/fitted tops are a little more conventionally flattering (as much as slouchy leather pants can be conventional!). If I had to choose, my least favourite looks are the ones with the plaid blazer and plaid top.

Wow, Anna. Just wow. I could not disagree more. I ADORE these pants, and Una rocks them better than most models. I love looks #2 and #4 as well as the last two, but they all look good. Realistically, these are fashionable black pants and can go with almost anything, especially on someone as slim as Una.

I definitely disagree that slouchy pants make anyone look fat. With this drape, there is no way that the volume of the pants can be mistaken for the volume of the body. The movement and slink of the leather lets the lines of the body come through, unlike say a very stiff denim.

The only look I'm not in love with is the flannel (too long?) and the tucked top (poisoned eye for elastic waists). The others are all rockin!

Is it just me or do slouchy pants make you look fat? I know you're very slim in reality so I guess it might be the photo. I just don't get how they're flattering. They might be comfy, they might be fun, but they make you look fat.

Una I think these look great with the shorter, or more cropped tops like in 1, 4, 6 and 7. I would also like to see what different shoes you style them with. These are very rocker cool, I am jealous!

Had some time this morning so decided to try these new leather pants with different toppers. Tried a variety of silhouettes. Hair and shoes unstyled. Any thoughts? What works? What's awful?

This should be helpful with the Leith pants too!

1. Chopped off grey sweater (copying Rae's destroyed sweater look)
2. Plaid blazer from Zara (and K/R on the blazer, which would fill my 12x12 blackwatch plaid hole?)
3. Equipment shirt - I stalked this till it sold out, but it just turned up at my consignment store!
4. Silver hi-lo sweater - my camera doesn't like this one, obviously
5. Oversized cashmere sweater - volume on volume
6. Fitted sweatshirt
7. Half-tuck with elastic waist showing
