Suz--thank you! I am an earring lover. I love that little capsule! metallic shoes are something I always think is very "niche," but I bet I'd wear them all the time.   Madeleine---thank you! the clothes you mention sound very Northern California to me...you think you're warm at noon but you will need a beanie soon enough.  Anchie--I've been to some European coastal areas, but pretty sure not the Mediterranean. I love that sweatshirt--would look great during the day with Oakleys. I have fantasies of living in Australia. Jenni NZ--It is indeed the home of "Muscle Beach." As well as competitive basketball and about a zillion jewelry/incense vendors... I had to look up ponte pants. I like the idea.  cat2--Summer sweaters--mine tend to be just thin acrylic or poly or whatever. I like the idea of "thick cotton" sweaters. RunCarla--I love the Megan Markle look, especially the white hat, which delivers a more military feel.  I also like your finds. I don't worry much about mosquitoes--too dry here. Jaime--long shorts and a sweater are a great idea, or maybe some fluid crops.   AJ--I love this "light puffer" idea--I have never had one. And I am pro color.  Having thermal wear gives you an edge, doesn't it? And those lightweight scarves--I never knew they could be functional in any way--now I see they can.  Roberta--thanks for noticing the phone case! I love those finds and I would wear all of them. The camel and white BR outfit really captures my imagination. suntiger--I have lived in So Cal, so I remember that climate. In that case, you want a ton of flimsy shorts and tank tops to wear around the house, even in morning. Irina--that's a great idea to mix the day wear with the sportswear. I especially love the idea of a baggy sweatpant with a turtleneck.  Firecracker--thank you. And I could really wear this all the time! But sometimes you have to put on a dress or a work uniform. Bonnie--I have one puffer and it is a dense black winter one for winter weather. I have only been to Mediterranean beaches where nights are balmy dress up occasions. And even here temperatures don’t drop so much at night, during summer nights are sometimes too hot to be able to sleep. Currently light denim jacket or cardigan would be more than enough at night. Booties and jackets come out especially for dinners out or outside. Mornings I am usually wrapped up in a fleece robe before getting dressed for the day . At the beach In California would wear a coat, hat and gloves. A sweatshirt sounds like a good idea. I remember how cold the beach was in Southern California but fishermen were out in the water. I run cold, so I wore a beanie, windbreaker, and light puffer all in berry colors. I added navy leggings in a scuba material with thermal leggings under it, socks, and black sneakers. I wear a hoodie once the afternoon sea breeze comes in and for early morning walks. The Venice beach look suits you and fun that your outfit brought back memories of your favourite place. I like to pair different styles in one casual outfit. If I wear a sweatshirt, I’d wear it with wide leg pants. Or a turtleneck with sweatpants and a vest. Right now we are having hot sunny days with a twenty degree drop after sunset, so I swap shorts for jeans, put on a long sleeve shirt and socks, and sit out on my balcony to read. Always a nice warm smile too. I would call the Venice beach look you are describing - with leggings, fleece and baseball caps - Athleisure.  YES, the chill at the beach can bite you in the bottom in the morning and evening! That is absolutley true in Cape Town, RSA, where I lived for 12 years. You need knitwear, hoodies, jeans, pants, cotton scarves, boots, and jackets to keep warm in Summer by the water after about 6pm! People wear a rainbow of bikinis, gauzy harem pants, huaraches, sunglasses--anything to say "I'm hanging loose" in the balmy weather.  At sunset, the temperature suddenly plummets to the 50s, and any unfortunate beachgoers who still remain chatter their teeth as they pack up the cooler and trek the half mile to the car. At this point the locals come out to walk their dogs, and they dress entirely differently. Weather appropriately for sure, but also sort of a business casual approach to the beach--fleeces, baseball caps, Lululemon pants, sporty slides, etc. And always black, gray, navy--nary a color in sight--like New Yorkers on parade. What do you wear for an evening chill? Are you more of a sporty person, or a boho person? Or something else? Here I rock the Venice look, albeit accidentally. Charcoal grey Target sweatshirt, charcoal grey Chicos leggings, grey Toms, and a denim blue baseball cap.
