The medium is a perfect tailored fit on me, and I will be keeping it because it looks great and will fit more loosely as I lose weight. Double that is about 40". Since the medium for the sweater vest is 47", I figure that should give me that roomy fit without looking too big, so I ordered both colors in medium, and I will exchange for a size up or down after trying them on if necessary.</p> <p>I also got these black bootcut jeans and plan to wear them with both vests, and they will well work with most tops I already own. I really like the light stitching to pick up the white in the vests. I got them in my current size and one size down because I just need to lose a few inches around the waist for the smaller size to fit (I have narrow hips, so my hips are already there, ha). One was just awful quality — loose threads and a part that was already unraveling. It was a shame because that one actually had the best fit — a little more drapey and soft than this one. They're super budget friendly, they look super cute, and I feel they'd likely continue to fit me as I lose more weight (and if they don't, it'd only be about $50 for both of them, so not a huge loss if I only get to wear them for one or two seasons).</p> <p>So, my current bust size is 46" (I'm quite busty at any weight), and the size guide says a large is 49.4" on the bust, and a medium is 47.2", and a small is 46.1". The vest is designed to be oversized and fit loosely, as in the pictures. Do y'all think that means I should get a small because my bust size would fit within that, or should I get a medium or a large so there's some extra space and I get that looser fit? I generally wear a women's 16 or XXL in U.S. sizes. I'm truly stumped. </p>
