Laura - I wore them to an evening event and did not wear hose. It was cold but I had a super warm coat and only had to walk from the car to the restaurant and then to the actual party so it wasn't bad! I don't think they would work with hose - but maybe someone will correct me.

Those are definitely cute! Snce I discovered Chie Mihara a few years ago, though, I have given up all other heels but hers. There's a video on Youtube.com where she talks about designing an insole specifically for women. All I know is the proof is in the pudding, and, although they're pricey, Chie's are THE MOST COMFORTABLE HEELS EVER!! Sorry to shout--but, wow, they're great. And worth the money!

Here are the ones I'm currently considering for this summer: http://www.pedshoes.com/chie_m.....lorID=1753

Laura, not long now! Promise.

Kate an Jenava, I too do a LOT of city walking - more than most, which is why I am constantly struggling with shoes. I really get it.

Maya and Bella, I have never owned Softt shoes either. I do not have wide feet at all, and yet I find the toe box snug on their closed shoes. But I do find their sandals more comfortable. So far, Clarks still wins over Softt for my feet - but you know how it goes with shoes and all retail items for that matter..... we never leave a retail stone unturned because a brand gets the opportunity to start afresh each season :0)

Like Maya, I do a lot of walking. The building where I work and take classes is a mile from my house, and so I walk at least 2 miles everyday. Moreover, a lot of the sidewalks in Tucson are not paved, so at least a half mile of that walk is on gravel. I'm also usually carrying at least a backpack, some books, and a lunch. That being said, I have a pair of Sofft Rori gladiator-ish sandals with a 1" (or slightly less) heels that I wear often and they have never given me any problems. They look like this: http://www.zappos.com/images/7.....7015-p.jpg? Granted, I have never worn any other Sofft shoes and these ones have a very small heel, but I feel the need to stand up for my Soffts, because I think they're pretty great!

Yay, those are on my wish list; can't wait to try them!

But, I totally know where Maya is coming from. I've got the same issue...usually I bring my heels with me and commute in flats (I have a new pair of Born flats that are darling and don't look like "comfort" shoes...they have a floppy bow on the toe - so cute!).

The additional issue I've got is that I go to school after work, so it means lugging my heels with me to class, along with my gym bag, so I end up with three pairs of shoes ON MY PERSON at any given moment during my commute....kind of ridiculous! But, I love wearing heels at work and I refuse to commute in my running shoes...(-;

But!!! I have found three cage - heel alternatives that were a lot more comfy for my feet. I'll post about them soon. But try these too because you never know.

Have also just found the best sandals ever for 40 bucks full price. Stay tuned. Not letting the cat out the bag yet:-)

I have had really good luck with Sofft. I have a couple pairs of heels and they fit me well. But every brand fits people differently...I have some Ecco flats that everyone swore were the most comfortable shoes EVER and yet when I wear them, they tear up my skin.

But to Maya's point, I would never wear my heels when marching around the city...even in my Soffts. Anything over 2 inches is basically for days when I am using the valet service.

Julie, these look gorgeous! Add me to the list of those who have not had luck with Sofft. I bought a pair of heels awhile back that ended up going to goodwill after 1 wear. They are too stiff & narrow for my feet and every pair that I have tried on since then is the same.

Maya,
I understand! I used to walk about 5 miles a day, because the bus routes didn't quite go where I needed to.

Now I can wear heels, because I park about 20 feet from my desk, and I walk for exercise (and change shoes).

I do have some dress shoes which are about as comfortable as my running shoes -- of course they are flat.

They are very pretty shoes and got a great review on Nordstroms. I haven't had the best experience with comfort in the Sofft brand either. I hope they are making them more comfy this year. I haven't tried them yet. They really do make beautiful shoes and know what styles women want. If they get the comfort down they'll be winners. So far it's sounding good with the reviews.

April, I am obviously in the minority here. Most people seem to love them. Each style of Sofft I have tried has had its own problems:

-Pilar flats: INCREDIBLY stiff! These had absolutely no give whatsoever and cut and rubbed in every conceivable spot. I ended up selling them on ebay.

-Raya sandals: These were a slide style that would not stay on my foot in either a medium or a wide despite both widths feeling too narrow. Leather was very stiff and dug into my foot. The O ring pressed down painfully.

I also tried two pumps but I don't remember the names. One of them had a shell-like pattern on the vamp and the other was very 1920's with a wide mary jane strap. I LOVED the latter but once again, the leather was so stiff. The heels on both were too high for me but I thought maybe in a comfort brand it could work. I have since realized that no amount of gimmicky technology will make 3" or higher heels work for me.

Also, every single pair runs narrow in my experience. The "wide" is a joke. It is not wide at all.

I am always amazed at the fact that a company named SOFFT has such hard friggin' shoes. I don't know if I just have bad luck and there are other styles that are more supple, but I haven't found them.

It's also my lifestyle. I'm going to make a very bold statement here and I hope I don't offend anyone, but I don't think anyone living in the suburbs can really appreciate or understand what it is like to commute on foot in a large city. I walk quite fast and aggressively and I refuse to let my shoes slow me down--if there is one thing I hate, it is getting stuck on the sidewalk or in the subway behind women who walk at a snail's pace in their 3"+ heels. It is a very different experience to run around on uneven pavement for blocks and blocks, running up and down the stairs on the subway, and running to catch a train before the doors close, all day long...than it is to take a walk through a mall for a few hours.

That said, if you DON'T commute on foot, maybe Soffts will work for you. If you're only wearing them to work, they might be just fine. One of my supervisors changes into Soffts for the office and all day at work, but she does not wear them for her commute.

ooh, those are really cute. I want to try on the sand color.
how stable do you find the heel? I had a pair of sofft shoes a couple years ago and the way they had the heel designed I often found myself twisting my ankle (not seriously, but it would make me stumble) I hope they have remedied that because I love the look of sofft shoes.

I don't like Sofft shoes and I already know these aren't even worth trying on for me, BUT they do look killer and I'm glad they served you well.

Hi everyone - hope you are all having a great weekend!

I wanted to put in a plug for the Sofft Rachelle sandals.

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=1

Although they have a 3 1/2" heel they are sooo comfortable. I purchase
d these to wear to a event last night and had them on for 5 1/2 hours - standing and dancing most of the time. My feet felt great! I've never been able to wear anything above 2" for more than an hour or so without hurting feet.

Kudos to Sofft for making comfortable and stylish high heels!
