I qualify that by saying you are NOT too old, but perhaps you are too "beyond" in terms of this does not fit with your attitude, your beliefs, your style persona. While it's OK and sometimes good to tiptoe into areas of discomfort to stretch yourself, sometimes, it's just not worth it. My mother often gives me things she finds to be cute, or that she thinks "completely describes you." I thank her and put them in the purge bin. If you really love the style of the sweatshirt and embrace the sentiment, then go for it. I have one that I really like. I'd rather it be plain blue than YOLO spread across the chest, but at least it's a positive message. It's hard to judge without seeing a picture of the sweatshirt, though I did Google some images and saw all sorts of style with different words on.
