It all depends. If the length is right, and the overall structure is present, I like cropped clothes in many ways. But it can look very wrong, too.

I love cropped knitwear, tops and jackets! I also like cropped pants but am VERY FUSSY about when they look flattering to my eye.

Well, today I am sporting my first pair of cropped ankle pants, which are clearly not everyone's cuppa ( and no, it is not the red ones I posted earlier, these are black) and the happiness factor is 10.

I think the key with cropped pants or tops is in the styling. I am wearing mine with a pair of point toe booties, in black also, and you cannot see a divide between the shoe and the pant. To me, the result is a refreshment from the standard trouser silthouette that I have been sporting forever. I am tired of wearing trousers.

I do have several cropped sweaters, that I wear with the intention of having a longer layer underneath.

I guess I am not anti-crop, but I do have very long limbs.

I don't care for cropped clothing on myself, because I am busty, curvy, short, and short-waisted. Most cropped clothing makes me look shorter and heavy. I do have a sheer Wolford cropped shirt, that I love - when I pair it with a long tank top or tee underneath, so that the line still goes up and down, instead of side-to-side. On its own, it would be sad. And indecent.

I think crop tops look cute on a certain type of long, lean figure. Or a small, lean figure. And a cropped top or sweater is cute layered.

I very rarely see a cropped-pants look that I love or that I think flatters the wearer - but when I do, the pants inevitably have a slim stovepipe or fitted leg, and are always worn with a dainty-heeled shoe.

I detest those ubiquitous cropped khaki/tan cargo pants on pretty much all women. Those things have been around for years! and they are possibly the most depressing thing you can see on a woman, besides crocs. Or scrubs worn out in public. I always wonder why/how did these things become so popular?? They inevitably broaden the backside view, hit at an unflattering part of the leg, and make women's feet look enormous by comparison.

On other people, I really like both. On me, I really like cropped tops and find cropped pants dangerous. FWIW, I have a similar body type to Linda - flat stomach, small waist, short legs.
And like Linda, I wear the cropped tops with an underlayer, there is no exposure of bare stomach for this 40 year old.

I will not do cropped tops but I'm open to the right pair of cropped pants. Which I find funny, because I spent most of my teen years trying to find pants that fit my long legs and DIDN'T look like that! (As an aside, I am so very happy that retailers have gotten much better about offering a variety of length options. Sometimes, even the talls are too tall for me, which was unthinkable 15 years ago.)

Hmmm, seems like our opinions are based on figure flattery. I love cropped sweaters and jackets but not cropped pants (ankle length is ok if they are tapered). I have a small waist and flatish stomach so like to accentuate that (not with bare skin, however). My legs are short and stocky so I avoid any hemline that hits my calves. I don't mind low rise pants and jeans provided they are high enough in the back to cover my rear. Usually I have to go for mid rise for that reason.

I like cropped sweaters over dresses but that is about it. I like my jeans to hit my waist. I do not feel comfortable baring any tummy every. I am reserving judgement on cropped pants pending the right length.part of it is I am just more concervative by nature, I think.

I don't mind cropped pants at all because I don't worry about leg shortening. I don't like cropped tops and jackets on myself, but do like them on others. I have an "8 shape" hourglass figure, where my widest part is my upper hip, so unless there is some asymmetry, tops and jackets that hit or stop there make me look heavier and I avoid them.

Like I said above, I was wondering if I am the only person who doesn't like short or cropped trousers and tops? I would never wear them, even when I was in my teens (a long time ago). I just don't think they look good on me at all and I feel uncomfortable in them. I am not sure what makes me feel like this, maybe its my body shape...or the ghostly voice of my grandmother telling me not to have a bare back as I would get cold in my kidneys...... I can't stand low rise jeans and trousers for the same reason....they bare my back if I sit down. My husband doesn't mind cropped tops but hates cropped trousers...we have a lot in common.
