I do not like the contrast white soles at all and never have done. My new Skechers from mid 2019 are black with black soles and make me happy. They go so well with everything, are comfortable as heck, and I can wear them to work, yay! I'm in the process of buying some new shoes and got a pair of tan Frye loafers, but the white sole is making me reconsider. I would much prefer a matching or natural sole. Although they get super dirty super fast in the city, LOL.  I still have my old rose gold sneakers that have matching soles, and I like the effect. They're getting pretty beat up, though, so I'm afraid next season will be their last. In Birkenstocks I can only abide the styles with the white soles, it’s the only way I was ever going to wear them again when they came back in style. The brown cork soles are just too earthy/crunchy granola for me (I did wear them as a young person so that’s part of it). On the other hand I’m a lifelong fan of Converse with the white sole being integral to that style. I don’t like Seinfeld sneakers but I do have slightly off white leather Converse as my nod to the white sneaker style. These days white sneakers are styled with everything, so I appreciate that versatility, but I don’t actually think they look great with everything, and feel it can be lazy styling at times (on the part of stylists not everyday people - I totally appreciate that my teen daughter could start high school feeling on point with one reasonably priced, comfortable pair of Air Force Ones). I see what you mean, but I kinda like that estethic. I call it "cruise-tourist"-chic High waists and "mom jeans" are sort of already in that category. Personally I much prefer that above the whole menswear Gentlemans club tweed suit-style thats all the rage now. That maybe because I am very yang and androgynous looking, and would rather play that down with softer looks. I already have solid black and white high tops, FashIntern. I have skimmed through colour theory on low/high contrast, but not really tried to apply it in practice. I was just thinking, why black and white are perceived as such universal flattering classic colours (although non-colours). Those white soles are easier for light haired/light skinned people- cause there's naturally something to bookend. Or very dark skin and bright white teeth is high contrast. Avoids looking so sneakerish, and avoids the constant black streaks that make it look dirty before its time. For my taste, it blends better as one solid color.
