Danskos are supposed to be kitchen shoes too, but I've found them a no go for several reasons. I do like crocs, they make work shoes too, and mephisto (which is really pricey). Also, honestly, lace up New Balance sneakers with no cut out in the sole under the arch.</p> <p>Here's another thing, for work shoes like this, I definitely feel they have to be replaced often. Anything by Brooks works for me. Or if you have other flat shoes that can accommodate orthotics, that may be another way to go. It is true that my instep (also high) is red at the end of the day. I must wear them with the thinest sockliners; anything thicker and the fit is off. But I do find they keep me from feeling tired. Have you tried the Sanitas? </p> <p>These are my other favorite work shoes (don't laugh). I can wear these all day. She suggested proper shoes over the sneakers I wear now to work. I can't wear Dansko's professionals due to my high instep. It took me about a year to figure that out. This is for work to be worn with scrubs so I really don't care what they look like. I need something that will withstand a 10+ hour day.
