Thanks Una. Thats a brilliant idea to give them away to an organisation..hadn't thought that there would be the need. I will ask around. Some of the colours are not appropriate for me and are definitely better suited for different colouring from me.

will get some photos of those that I get altered.

Yep. Take them to a tailor and you can get them made into a tunic length top that will be awesome over skinnies for sure.

Depending where you live there are organizations that take Indian clothes for abused women who have had to flee their home (in NY it's Sakhi http://www.sakhi.org/).

Would love to see a photo or two!

I have been dragging stuff out of my mother's place and found a suitcase full of saris and sawar kameez tops and bottoms. I dont think I will wear the saris (the only time I have I have found uncomfortable) but I am going to keep one just in case. However I am wondering what to do with the others. Has anyone designed a dress to use the material for etc? Also the sawar kameez bottoms are so pajama like I think I am going to give away and maybe shorten the tops so I can wear with jeans. Has anyone had any experience with this?
