Hmm -- thanks for the comments! I don't think I'll re-attach the sleeves quite like they were - they'd be in my way all the time. But I may undo the narrowing, and try a half-way version - leaving them wide, but unattached. If I do it, I'll post pics

It works both ways. The bottom line is what you feel the most comfortable in. I find such sleeves difficult to wear under jackets.

Hm, I personally liked the original sleeves better, but do you think you could wear it that way? Maybe you could try it out a few times before you decide to chop?

I like the trimmed up sleeves!

I just did some thing similar to a black and bronze cardigan. I really liked the sweater but never wore it. The bell sleeves just looked awkward and fussy to my eye.

Once I trimmed the extra fabric, it laid smooth. I don't have a serger so I zig-zagged before trimming and then went over it again after cutting.

I like what you've done. The bottom line is which version are you more likely to wear and feel great in.

I would leave it as it was. That is the style.

I stopped by goodwill the other day, and was completely smitten by this sweater(#1).

So it came home with me (it was only $1!).

But it's cut weird - the "Kimono sleeves" were attached to the body, and the whole silhouette looked a bit weird.

So I ripped into it, thinking to give it sleeves more like this sweater.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/jo.....521?pprd=0

I have it done, but I'm skiddish to actually cut off the extra. Here's what it looks like (sleeves are bunchy and twisting because I haven't cut off the extra fabric - they'll be smooth). Should I chop, or put it back the way it came?

And I'm posting and heading to bed, so I'll check in the morning to see you you think. G'night all!
