Yes, I completely agree with Angie. I had a denim jacket from Eddie Bauer (pictured here http://www.eddiebauer.com/EB/W.....hide%22%7D though you can't enlarge the photo because it's sold out) nipped in more at the waist, and it made a big difference in the fit.

Even though EB had re-styled this jacket to be a little more cropped and fitted, it was still a bit boxy on me. Fixing it was no problem for my tailor, who is just a regular dry-cleaner (i.e., you shouldn't have to find a specialty tailor for this job.)

A good seamstress will absolutely 100% be able to alter that denim jacket. I had mine beautifully altered everywhere. It’s a question of how much you’re prepared to spend. It's not cheap.

I've read a bunch of the threads about denim jackets and there is a lot of suggestions about altering them... The denim jacket I recently bought is kind of complicated in that it has a continuous waste band, and lots of double and heavy stitching... is this normal for a tailor to work with? Or will their be cuts and re-sewings where their weren't any before, to get around certain styled aspects of a denim jacket?

Thanks everyone!
