				<description>&#060;p&#062;I agree with coco, these look like fitted pants. There are two ways to do ruching in sewing as mentioned by the previous two posters: elastic or pulled thread. Personally I recommend you pass on this item because it doesn't look ruched enough to create much length and you don't know the quality of the material. When you remove stitching there will be holes even if you iron on a thinner material. I personally never try an alteration on something I have not seen in person.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;They look fitted, not slouchy to me.  Unless you size up by 2 sizes or so.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062; I'm assuming it's ruched with elastic, which should be removable.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;My guess is that the ruching can be removed easily by opening the seams, ironing out the fabric and sewing the legs together again. But it is of course difficult to tell from a photo, so don't take my word for it! I love the pants WITH the ruching, by the way:)
