Fabulous job, Carter. Like the others, I'm in love with the skinnies/ ankle pants outfits on you. Partly it is because it's a silhouette that truly works on you -- very flattering. Partly it's that it happens to be such a cohesive capsule so all those outfits look delicious lined up together. But also, it injects a bit more "modern" in your classic than the other mini-capsules seem to do.

Having said that, like CocoLion, I really see the value of having some superb traditional, conservative outfits on hand for occasions that call for those. Especially with certain kinds of clients. So you are completely set for whatever comes your way.

This is great, Carter! You can see everything all spread out in one photo...taking notes for use in my Stylebook app. I love that you can see at a glance everything in your capsule....this had to take quite a commitment to organize and put this together. Applause applause!

Awww, thanks for the shout out, Carter!

I have to agree with the others who say they really like the long over lean styles on you. I also have a preference for the outfits with the solid tops rather than patterns but that's probably just my own bias.

I am jealous of your temps! We are usually finished with winter by now but we had sleet and snow last night and I am quite ready for some warmer weather.

Please can you fly over and sort my wardrobe out? Seriously, great job!

Of the first batch of outfits, I prefer the solid colours and I think the lightest bone sweater looks best with the light jeans. Love all the longer length tunic/sweaters... and your shirts are wonderful too. I can't say much about bags as I'm not much of a bag lady, but I like Aida's idea for a metallic one.

You are looking very elegant if I may say in all photos.

Thanks, Angie! I'm messing around with the Spring work capsule now. I'm not loving it, but it's ok. I'd prefer not to buy anything specifically for work since my son graduates next year, and we haven't decided what we're going to do. I'm voting for radical change...so we'll see! Back to the capsule...no jeans, more structured/business casual so I can meet a client at his or her office, pitch a listing, caravan, etc.

I've tried LOTS of options so far this morning, but only a few outfits have made the cut so far. Of the ones below, the first is my favorite. The others feel fine, but there's no wow. Direction help?

PS...shocked you like the skinnies/ankle pants best! Thought you'd go for the bootcuts.

Sorry, computer was acting up, so I had to hit submit before I lost my response!

Kkards, the orange bag with the grommets...I was wondering if this one would make the cut. I have a boho alter ego that loves that bag, but maybe I'll just have to tuck her away for a bit longer.

Sadie, hooray for house to ourselves! Hope you have a wonderful time playing in your closet. Regarding orphans...the plaid shirt is probably the most orphan-ish item. Hopefully I just need to figure out how to style it because I really like the colors and the gauzy material. It was one of those "must add something to the order to get free shipping" items from the end of season last year.

AM, so pleased you found this helpful. It was quite a good exercise for me, because I was really stuck on the "nothing fits me right now" whine. See my response to Sadie above for the plaid shirt issues;-).

Good morning, ladies! The dog and I were quite a bit lazier than usual this morning. It was wonderful!

Debbie, thanks! I'm really enjoying the long cardigans. I almost didn't buy the white/gray striped one because I already had the other. So glad I did. I like having a dark one and a light one.

Mellllls, I knew our weather might be an issue for some;-) Happy to have the button down love. I had no interest in them last Spring. Now I'm really looking forward to them. Go figure...

Firecracker, thank you. You're actually a great inspiration for the long lean lines, longer cardi/skinnies. Really liking this silhouette this year.

Deborah, thanks! There's something about a long top layer that just feels put together. You do this so well!

CocoLion, you're right. The skinnies/ankle jeans silhouette is new for me, and I'm really liking it. I hope that having done this, complete with outfit pics, will get me past the morning ritual of staring at my closet cluelessly;-)

Crutcher, I do like the black Chico's jeans, but I'm not sure I'd buy them again. They are very stretchy, so they seem to fit no matter what my scale says. That part I like. My struggle with them right now is in the length. I have long legs (relatively speaking), and the pants legs have shrunk over time. I'm going to try pulling on the hems while wet to see if that helps. If not, my shoe choices are limited to flats with these.

Summer, if it's any consolation, we're back to 54 degrees today;-). Thanks for the love of the skinnies/long sweater group. So much fun to see my new fave meet with good reviews!

Karie, ah....you know I love some color and some crazy pants too! Both are well represented in my work wardrobe. I didn't get to play around with it last night (well, actually I elected to have a glass of wine and revel in what it feels like to control the remote control;-)) I hear you on the foot challenges. Glad you found a solution. Hopefully I will too.

This is a truly inspiring post. Thank you. I really appreciate your organization, planning -- the counts of items really helps this newbie.

I like the silhouettes - great straight, bootcut, and skinnies. Tops with asymmetrical hem, long cardigans, different shaped tunics, button-downs. It's all great and diverse. The only item I'm not wild about is the plaid shirt. Everything else looks wonderful.

I enjoy the bags and shoes adding interest while your looks are very simple and chic. The coral shirt is also a great color on you. Black and tan also seems like a very winning combination on you.

Wow are you organized! Your capsule looks great and you have a lot of great options. I love the colors in the button-down shirt collection, so maybe add more color in other areas as well. I'm a lover of crazy pants, so I might add some patterned pants to go with those solid tops. I do like the idea of another pair of pointy toed shoes if your feet can manage with them. Since my foot surgery, I've been wearing those "Ball of Foot" inserts that you buy at the drugstore and they help a lot.

Subtract about 70 degrees to your temps and that's what I'm dealing with!

I had to smile at the "30 hours of the house to myself" thing. Do we throw a wild party? Of course not. We play with our clothes!

#7 looks like newer style direction for you. You look fantastic in each and every one of these. This is a stylish and figure-flattering silhouette -- with your long legs you wear crops and flats beautifully. The outfits in 3 and 5 look a bit more conservative. I'm one who likes to have options ranging from modern to more traditional, depending on the occasion, location and types of people I'm going to be around. I think your Spring capsule will make it a simple pleasure to get dressed every day.

These outfits are all fantastic, Carter. You wear all of these silhouettes so well. I have a soft spot for the skinnies outfits, especially. The last three in that capsule are my favorites of all, for the modern feel and the super long, lean lines. I'm beyond impressed with your organization. And I always like your hair--looks great on you, and it suits your style.

Beth Ann, great suggestions. I have no problem sizing up in clothes to get the fit I want, but it never occurred to me to do the same thing with shoes simply because of the toe box (Length, yes). Brilliant. A taller toe box might also keep the vamp of a slightly heeled shoe from digging into my scar. Wider V of course makes perfect sense as well. I'm on a mission now!

Thanks, Jackiec. It felt like a very disorganized process, so I'm so glad it ended up with some semblence of order:-) I will do my best to find some shoes that elongate similarly to pointy pumps. Surely there must be something. I definitely agree that it's a better look.

Shevia, I definitely need the outfit reminders. I can't visualize anything first thing in the morning! You also picked my two favorite button-ups! Especially the tencel tunic...I just love it.

Wow! You did some serious planning! You have a nice wardrobe for the start of the season -- and a little room for updates! You have great skill at creating consistent, but varied, dressing formulas.

I have burly big toes. Seriously, they're like turkey drumsticks! Pointy toes are doubly difficult, when they need to accommodate the toes and my wide forefoot! I've found two things helpful: Firstly, I usually size up. Most importantly, I find that a wider angle "V" -- shorter and more abrupt on the foot --- works far better at making room for the toes. Lastly, a taller toe box --- hard to find in a flat -- keeps me comfy!

Of course, the only shoes I'm wearing now are my painting shoes. Updates on that later!

This is so organized! I love that you have actual outfit shots included - I have a hard time visualizing outfits otherwise. I agree with Aida that if you could find comfortable pointy toes, you will be set. I like the denim button up and the pink one especially. I was eyeing the bucket bag as a fun way to be trendy. Not just because I just thrifted another one of course :-)!
