(Mine also has a huge, open cowl neck, which I wouldn't wear without an underpinning.) For example with the joggers - despite both the top and bottom being loose the welted waist gives you a great shape and the effect is very flattering (to my eye). The drop sleeves fit your actual shoulders so no problem with too wide or too narrow. And so on. So, just now I took a few minutes to try it on with some bootcut jeans (1-4), my Dre burgundy jeans (5-8), and just for grins even the joggers I’m wearing at home today (9-11) but not those shoes — I was just wearing them around to confirm comfort. For some reason, the top seems to be playing better with these pants, or something. Maybe these are a slightly higher rise, which can make a big difference with a slightly cropped length top. It shifts a little bit but settles and I don’t feel like I’m having to tug it. Here are some pics. The length looks right to my eye and that's my "sweet spot" when it comes to purchasing tops, or even a bit shorter if I'm going to wear a top with a skirt usually. But I don't usually reach up above my head for things routinely (my days of stocking shelves at a store are behind me, thankfully!), so that length of top works well for me. If you find that it feels fussy or would bother you as you go about your daily life, then definitely pass. </p> <p>ETA: I think lightweight knits with a banded bottom like this top can sort of "bounce" up and down with movement more readily that a woven or heavier banded sweater or sweatshirt, IYKWIM? And there are lots of black tops in the world, so if it doesn't feel right, onward (as Angie says). I just put it on with cuffed straight leg jeans and black boots for a very simple attempt at styling. I was pleasantly surprised to see the neckline works without showing bra straps when worn this way —<br /> I don’t think the Flashdance styling is for me. </p> <p>It’s voluminous, but also a bit shorter in the body than I expected (odd because I’m short in the torso). I like where the slightly curved banded hem hits me, but when I reach or put my arms up, it does need tugging down afterward, and I don’t love that.
