I think V necks make my shoulders look more narrow, and I try to be careful about shoulder seams. If the shoulder seam drops at all, I avoid it. When I was younger I used to have a few tops that did not have any shoulder seams at all....the sleeve continued right up to the neck opening. Large collars do make narrow shoulders look broader – a good thing. But what’s more crucial is the placement of the collar up against the shoulder-neck-point. This is a must for narrow shoulders.</p> <p>The lapels on this particular jacket are overwhelming. The model has board shoulders and pulls it off. I tried this trench on and it completely overwhelmed me even though I wear large collars well. ( It was also too big, but even so, it wouldn’t have worked in the right size because my shoulders are dainty).
