Alecia, maybe I'm blind, but I'm not seeing a problem with these suits! They all seem to flatter you nicely and fit well. I think what may be missing is some kind of shine or color underneath, and that's easy to fix!

1. With a paler blouse like the first one in the trumpet skirt, a shiny long necklace would give it that pulled-together look.

2. The next suit already has that great vintage top; no wonder you like it, it gives the whole outfit a nice boost of pizazz!

3. Love the monochrome neutral one on the next day; it's a very elegant look.

4. The yellow silk and sweater is my favorite look of the week. Put the top under one of the suits one day!

5. It's hard to see the St. Pat's day suit, but I like the silhouette on you. I don't know if I would wear a scarf folded like that again; it's almost a bandito look that doesn't sit quite right with the shoulder line of the jacket. Maybe a top with a high neck?

6. I like the Tahari suit, but I am guessing a dark color under it washes you out too much. A bright color might work better -- like the red in your shoes! :)

7. That's not my favorite silhouette for myself, but I think you pull it off!

8. Necklace, necklace, necklace would brighten up the denim jacket and blue top nicely. Something bronzey or gold, or even a scarf!

9. I have no problems with the ankle straps, but I am not crazy about the cap sleeves with the shoulder line of the blouse. BUT! Maybe the blouse would work under one of the suits! It's definitely a great color for you.

All in all, I think you had a good week. Don't be so hard on yourself!

Hi Alecia,

My favorite outfits of yours are the ones that have a lot of color! I love the yellow sweater and the pink blouse outfits in particular. They seem to work really well with your coloring. I don't mind the ankle strap shoes - they match well with the vintage feel of the outfit. Sometimes we have to break the rules. :-)

As far as the neutral outfit, perhaps it's the camera angle that gives the appearance of too much volume, but maybe try the same outfit with a slimmer pant to make it even better?

I figured I would get some comments on the ankle strap shoes. I was going to say something in my comments and kind of preempt them. But I thought better to see what would bubble up organically. I know the rules but I don't think they look awful here. Plus, they were the only shoes I had that went so I kind of had to roll with it. Maybe there will be another option in the future. I had a great time at the party and got a lot of compliments for what it's worth. Plus that shirt is like a wearable disco ball. I love that.

Joy, it's interesting about the neutral outfit. I felt great in it when I wore it, but saw the same thing you did in the picture. But again, I got a TON of compliments that day. How do you reconcile that? It makes me confused.

Thanks for the feedback.

Alecia, I also think you are being too hard on yourself. I really like all your outfits except #3 the neutral one seems like it makes you look wide when you're not. Could it be the combination of the volume of the cardi plus the wide pant legs?
I think you can wear the blouse with the puffed sleeves. The pink blouse in the last photo extends your shoulders but looks fine on you. I still think it's a cute party outfit. My favorite is the channeling spring.
Have you tried some of Angie's spring accessory suggestions? A flower belt or pin, turquoise tote or bright scarf might make you feel fab in your suits for spring. I could see a string of yellow beads with the second outfit.

Hi Alecia! I love the channeling spring outfit. The yellow cardigan is adorable on you. I also really like the white top with the obi style belt. It looks great on you. The last picture in the pink vintage top is perhaps my favorite. I think it's very flattering and makes you look like an hourglass. The only thing I'm not sure about is the ankle straps (It could just be the angle of the picture.)

I don't feel like I'm qualified to comment on the suits. I've never had to wear them and don't really have a feel for what is appropriate in your line of work.

Alecia, don't be so hard on yourself! This set has some amazing outfits. I absolutely love #4, you look fabulous!
Also, I like outfit #9. I know that ankle straps are not good, etc. But sometimes they work and I think this is a really sexy, fun party outfit.

Hi Alecia -- I think the blouse in #7 works with your shoulders (that's actually my favorite of the series), but I don't think the pink blouse in the last photo is as good. Not sure I will be able to explain this well, but the sleeves in #7 have enough length to create balance, whereas the cap sleeves in the final blouse create a strong horizontal line that exaggerates your shoulders. Does that make sense?

Also, your shoes in #1, #4 and #8 are much more flattering to your legs than the shoes in #9. The ankle straps seem to visually shorten them.

I love photos where the pets sneak in!

First off, thanks everyone for lifting my spirits after my venting this week. This is such a great, supportive community. I appreciate you all.

Here's a photo album of outfits that I managed to take pictures of during March. There are only nine so I don't think it'll be too overwhelming.
http://s508.photobucket.com/al.....rchRestof/

It was kind of interesting to have saved up a few weeks of pictures because it gives you a good chance to see a bunch of my suits (the root of my frustration) collected in one place. I have one more that is appropriate for warmer weather - the one that sent me over the top. Unfortunately, there's no picture of it here. There's not really much feedback that I'm looking for on those at this point, but it'll give you a sense of the lay of my land.

One particular question, in pictures 7, I'm wearing a blouse with kind of puffy sleeves. I've got strong shoulders, do you think this works or does it overly accentuate them?

Other comments are always welcome.
