I saw that there is a huge cold front moving across the US so many of you all are probably as cold or colder.</p> <p>I have to say that I won't be wearing skirts the rest of the winter unless necessary. Even with a long coat that reaches the tops of my boots, my knees were freezing. Smart casual worked well for the day -- although after I saw the photos I adjusted the bottom of the sweaters so the band of white was much thinner. I was in a monochromatic mood but did add the striped scarf for a bit of color.</p> <p>Tuesday -- I had a meeting with an historian turned member of parliament so wanted to look professional. I bought this skirt at a consignment shop and had it taken in along the hips for a better fit. I got it back from the tailor just before I left on my trip so I didn't have a chance to look for the right top for it. I love the colors in the skirt. I felt very preppy with the turtlenecks but hopefully the amber necklace and the boots toned the preppiness down a bit.<br /> (P.S.
