I'm glad you're getting compensated for the pants in some way, Aisha. J. Crew is usually so good about things like that. They're customer service is always really great, I've never had a bad experience in stores or on the phone.

Oh and I did call Jcrew to comment on the fact that the website states that the pants have a 33" inseam vs. in reality its 31 1/2...and they offered free return shipping to return, which I declined b/c I'd like to keep them and get them lengthened (which of course, will cost me extra, which I wouldn't have to do if the pants were 33" inseam)...so they are sending me a gift certificate in the mail for my next order!

That's one thing I really like about Jcrew, their customer service team is really considerate and very well informed on their products. They can tell you exact measurements for any garment in any size (as length etc does differ slightly from size to size). And, I've never had a long wait time whenever I have called in!

Great, I'm going to drop them off to get lengthened today. I'm glad I got the Angie-ok before doing it :)

I didn't want to send them back because the pants fit so well! And are very comfortable!

I'd be peeved too. You can absolutely alter them though cause they fit really well. I lengthen pants from time to time and it works beautifully as long as the pants haven’t been to the cleaners yet.

(Hilarious video!)

I have seen this video! It is hilarious! Someone sent this to me a while ago...too funny!

Ok I guess the consensus is that the pants have to go back. Or do you think I might be able to get them altered? The hem at the bottom is quite wide if that makes any sense. I think I need about an inch to an inch and a half more.

I'm a bit peeved though b/c the website says that the pants are 33" inseam!!

You are beautiful. The pants are a little short for my taste. I do agree that a nice saturated primary color in a belt or shoes would bring some character to the outfit.

I love your name. It reminded me of this hilarious youtube video. Have you seen it?

Gorgeous knitted jacket! Love the sound of the flame shade too. Super outfit Aisha, but the pants are definitely too short. No break-line from the front.

And all of the above re the bright accessories. This will add an extra pop to your ensemble. Can’t wait to see more.

I didn't comment on the Who's Who thread, but I think you are so cute! I love your wedding photos!!

I really like this outfit on you, but I'm not sure about the length of the pants from the front, it's really hard to tell. Are you wearing heels in the photo or flats? If you're wearing flats, I'd say they are too short because I can see a pretty good space between the hem and the floor.

I love the cotton jacket though, so cute!

As far as accessories, I would try maybe a red waist belt under the jacket, and brightly colored shoes would be awesome, and they'd spice up other outfits too. If you don't currently own any colored shoes (only neutrals) I'd buy a red pair, because I think that red goes with so much, it almost functions as a neutral. You'd probably get a lot of use out of them. Another option is a bright bag. Besides red, yellow would be really nice.

Thank you! I agree about the pop of colour, I work in a pretty conservative (read: boring) environment and while I used to wear a lot of colour in university, I've noticed since then that my wardrobe is now mainly grays/navys/blacks. I'm trying to get away from that.

The sandals I'm wearing have a slight (less than 1/2") heel so they are basically flats.

I have the same trapeze jacket in the "flame" colour which is an orangey-red. Do you think this would look better with this particular outfit?

Also, what types of bright accessories would you girls recommend? Something like a bright bag, shoes, or jewellery? Or even a belt?

I like the look, it fits you nicely. I agree that a bright accessory would make it even nicer. Ditto on the pants k=length-need to know if the sandals are flat.

And your hair is gorgeous indeed!

It looks like more of a trapeze jacket, which means it would probably be hard to tell if the shirt fit anyway since the jacket is more voluminous. I think it looks nice this way and I love how the jacket fits you. I have a few button front shirts I only wear as layering pieces under more fitted tops because they need the extra structure, so if it is a little big you can still keep it and use it that way.

I can't tell if the sandals are flat either. Get back to us on that.

BTW you have gorgeous hair. Very shiny!

It's difficult to tell if the pants are long enough just from the front. (at least it is for me). Are those sandals flat?

I like the jacket and blouse with the jacket looks fine. I think you could use a pop of color though. I think I'd rather see the blue jacket with orange or yellow. Maybe the blue and white would work better if you added an orange or bright red belt.

So here I am wearing my new J Crew City-Fit Chambray Addison Trouser which frankly, I thought would be longer (the website said the inseam was 33", and I measured these and they are 31 1/2). Do you think the length is ok if I wear them with flats?

I'm also wearing a sleeveless BR white ruffled blouse although I don't think you can really see the ruffles in the pic, and my navy jcrew 3/4 sleeve cotton jacket on top.

This top is a bit loose (I've lost a bit of weight recently) which is why I haven't really been wearing it on its own lately. I tried it under this jacket but I think its still too loose, what do you girls think? Should I either get it tailored or chuck it, or keep it loose and do something different (belted?)

Thanks!
