One of these days. These wouldn't help you (with dye issues), but I've had two "aha" moments myself with mascara:</p> <p>1. For everyday, a primer (L'oreal luminous) under my regular mascara prevents the mascara from giving me raccoon eyes (but my mascara still comes off with Cetaphil soap and water). It's magic.</p> <p>2. For strenuous activities (when I want to look nice), Blinc tubing mascara. It can't smear (by definition). I wore this for an ocean swim event and have used it in triathlons and it lasted well. I don't wear false eyelashes often, but I do occasionally (the glue kind).&nbsp; They take some practice to apply,&nbsp; and I should practice more than I do, but I've learned a few things along the way.&nbsp; And as long as you get proper eyelash glue from a reputable company, the glue is pretty safe... I don't recommend smearing it in your eyes, but small mistakes aren't going to hurt you. I've flubbed it plenty of times and halfway stuck my eyelids together (briefly!), and it was just fine. The glue is tacky, but not permanently sticky like actual glue.&nbsp; It won't tear off your eyelashes. :)</p> <p>A couple of tips from my experience: <ol> <li>They come in a huge variety of lengths, thicknesses, shapes, and drama-levels.&nbsp; Play around to figure out which ones give you the effect you want.&nbsp; Mine are long enough that they bump against sunglasses (not awful, but a little uncomfortable), which is a factor to consider.</li> <li>Trim the lashes (width-wise) to fit your eyes, if they're too long initially.&nbsp; Too-wide lashes are going to poke you at the corners, and that's pretty uncomfortable.</li> <li>Spend a little time flexing them so they're not so stiff and they bend more easily to fit your lash line.</li> <li>I sometimes curl my natural lashes and always put mascara on *before* applying the false lashes, because my natural lashes are fairly light and straight and don't blend well with the false lashes otherwise.</li> <li>Put a thin line of eyelash glue on the base of the lashes and then... wait. Wait longer than you think you need to. I mean it. So, I experimented with magnetic lashes. I could never get them quite right despite watching numerous tutorials and implementing several 'hacks'. But it was fun and I'm still laughing about it.</p> <p>My friend had lash extensions professionally done.
