I often have that problem with various brands— need a “ quarter-size” up! Sometimes in the larger size I just lose something in the overall look of the shoe on my foot and leg. Or the heel not only slips but gaps.

I DO gravitate toward suede footwear
for that reason- I can’t undersize, of course, but the leather is just more giving and forgiving overall. Similar would be true for a very buttery smooth leather.
I would also be sure the actual some us not too narrow— needs to support your foot. I would try them at home, and with different hosiery, to see if you can decide.
I recently got the shoes below, in smoothleather, and was worried about in- between fit , but the 1/2 size up was just too much. I kept the smaller size
and it worked great. But I didn’t know for sure until after wearing a few times!

Thanks, Angie and Joy. I think you're right that they run slightly narrow. The 39 felt better all over somehow despite the slight snugness at the ball of the foot. The 39.5 felt just a bit sloppier somehow. I may need to bring the 39 home to try around the house to see if it loosens up a little. If not, maybe I will try an insole in the 39.5.

The only AGLs I have are fashion sneakers. They run a tiny bit narrow. My regular size (8M) does not allow for wearing socks with the sneaker, but ankle length hose are fine. They are very comfortable without socks. Can you call or email to get exact measurements for the booties? Width at the ankle could be important. If you size up, it may change.

Can you add an insole to the one foot that felt a little large in the bigger size?

I'm considering this AGL bootie after trying it on in the store, but I'm not sure about the sizing. This would be the most expensive bootie I've ever purchased so I want to get it right.

I tried on both the 39 (listed as US size 9) and the 39.5. I normally wear a US8.5 or 39 in boots, but the 39 felt slightly snug on the width. The 39.5 felt right in the width, but long in the length. I'm wondering whether the 39 will stretch with wear. Any input on AGL sizing would be helpful.

They felt wonderful on the foot and had a nice sleek ankle fit, which I've been looking for.
