I think the asymmetric top works beautifully. Your other newer stylings are right on the money. I think you have very successfully styled this pants. Enjoy them.

Oh, FABULOUS!! I'm so excited. Look how smart you are. You went out with an idea and came home, doing it one better!! #1 is amazing and so are the belted looks!

Adelfa posted something about keeping a belt from sliding around on a pencil skirt (without loops) the other day, using a safety pin. It is in a thread this week about warm- weather dressing. Maybe that would work with the pants?

Pil, the first look with your new white top is fabulous. I like the look of the belts as finishing the look of outfits with tucked or semi tucked tops. Well done!

Thanks Ceit and Caro!
@Texstyle, I haven't actually WORN the pants out of the house yet so the wrinkles you see are from bending over to put on shoes and sitting down. I'm thinking the light weight feel of the fabric will outweigh any wrinkle issues. We'll see : )
@Firecracker, thanks! You've been such a tremendous cheerleader while I've stumbled my way toward working this out.
@Unfrumped and @Kellygirl, I had pretty much written off the leaf patterned top for this year until I realized the colors worked with these pants. It is several years old and has some snags, but the mesh fabric has made it a favorite in the past. I'd like to find more tops in this fabric because maintenance is SO simple - it doesn't wrinkle and air dries quickly. Thanks for the belt suggestion with the orange top Kelly.

And to paraphrase Kelly, you are all troopers for LOOKING at all of these stylings!

Great job, pil! I absolutely love #1. The drapey top with those pants and sandals is just fantastic. It looks effortlessly chic! I also really like the low contrast belted looks in the second set. I think I'd prefer the orange top with a lower contrast belt--that either blended a bit more with the top or bottoms. I also love the last tee in the last set. To me, the button down in the last set looks at odds with the easy style of the pants--but that could just be me.

You are a trooper for trying all of these stylings. Well done!

Pil, I really like 1 also! And the belted looks are great, too. If you find you can't wear the belts comfortably, I still like that dark top look (#1 in 3rd photo), and the blouse semi-tucked, so you have options!
I think these are great outfits pil! I ordered some linen pants but I'm curious if the wrinkles will bother me - yours look pretty good here - do you find the wrinkles okay? I just got a linen blazer (very light weight) and I love it but it does wrinkle considerably. I found a spray bottle of water helps a great deal but I can't very well spray my pants while wearing them (the blazer I can take off and hang, then put back on) --- unless of course I stand out in the wind for a few minutes after spraying.

Surely your eyes hurt after viewing my multiple attempts at styling these pants. I think I'm getting very close, at least I hope so.

1. Suz (thank you Suz!) had suggest an asymmetric top. When she suggested that I was actually envisioning an asymmetric hem - but - this Pleione top from TJ Maxx has asymmetric neckline and shoulders and also a banded hem. I quite like it and hope it works? The only drawback is it is a bit more sheer than ideal, but the draping helps mitigate that.
2. A couple of members (Joy and Day Vies maybe?) had suggested a belt. There are not belt loops on these pants, but I gave it a try. I need to wear the combination around the house to see if the belts will stay in place or if they will need constant adjusting. In the world of standing still for a photo they seem to work.
3. Just a replay of my most recent styling attempts for comparison.

What do you think? Am I there yet?
Thank you yet again for your thoughts : )
