I really like the shape of the first pair. I would use protection spray on them and be all set. I have had some suede shoes/boots for years, and I used to live in Boston, where you get a lot of rain and snow.g

Jen they all look great boots. I really like suede and I have a pair of suede boots that are entering either their 3rd or 4th winter and they are wearing extremely well. I never bothered to scotchguard them but I do chose not to wear them on a wet day if I'm going to be running around out of the office. Otherwise the get worn frequently and are fantastic.

I would avoid suede if you live somewhere that gets a lot of snow and uses salt on the roads. Since you say you have a short winter, though, you're probably okay.

Suede black one if you want it to last for some more years until you find another pair or even think of wearing it to work sometimes.

If you're able to get protection products, I don't see any reason to avoid the suede! I've had some nubuck shoes around for 4-5 years.

I know we have quite a short winter here but I have FINALLY found a pair of low heeled boots that feet my less than delicately sized feet and legs. The pair I tried only came in suede/nubuck (Pic 1) which concerns me in terms of wear and versatility. Another brand I have yet to try and which is only available online have my size in normal leather and the styling is way cute See pic 2 and 3 (leopard here or same style in black)... I guess I can return them if they don't fit but what do you think - which will be most versatile since it could be a few years until I would get/find another pair that I can wear everywhere from work to weekend (love my boots when its cool enough to wear them!!)
