I personally find that a wide leg style is more flattering for my junk in the trunk. Tapered styles not so much, usually.

However, it is only by trying on various styles and brands that I've gained a little self knowledge. If ordering both and having to return is not a hassle for you, do try both styles.

If you have trim ankles, I would go with the pair that shows them off.

Personally I think the wider leg linen trousers look better with a "real" waistband (so not a drawstring or elastic) so with these particular pants I prefer the look of the jogger. I also feel that the wide legs look better with shoes with a little more height if footwear/heel height is a concern for you.

When I order things from Nordstrom I try to prevent having to return anything as I'm in Canada and it's already expensive with the exchange and duty so I would prefer to order just one style. I love anthropology but sadly their sizing is not for my size. I think maybe I'll see how a Carlson regular fits at the Nordstrom here in Alberta and then maybe go from there! It's so hard to know! Thank you both!

I think it just depends on the pair, and what look you're aiming for. I passed on even trying the Caslon pair that Angie linked, because rear pocket flaps do me no favors.

I just received another pair from Anthropologie that I'm currently test-driving, as I sized down after the sales associate warned me they "grow" as you wear them.

Is it possible for you to try both and then decide? I like both pairs and can see either working well.

I've been eyeing the linen pants ever since Angie did a post but my question is I've noticed they have them in the jogger which is quite tapered at the bottom and they also have the wide legged as well. I'm plus sized with a rather large rear, what style would suit me better?
