Country clubs often have a dress code that restricts denim. Maybe a nice pair of dark trousers?

Your outfit idea is on the right track, although I think a non-denim bottom is more appropriate.

Hi Laura. Thanks for answering my question. Could you recommend any shopping stores online? I am 55, but everyone thinks I look much younger, late 40. I don't like conservative styles. I like unique styles, little sexy, but not revealing. I am 5'4 and 140 pounds. Have not worn a dress in years. I think high heels would make my legs look longer and leaner, as I do not have the legs I used to have. Hose I am sure will look good to. All the dresses I have viewed look old lady type.

Do you have a dress? I'd think a dress and jacket or nice separates would be a good choice. My take on a banquet, although I might be wrong, is that jeans would be too casual, even if dressed up.

I have been invited to a small horse show club banquet. My friend is wearing dress slacks, sports jacket and tie. Most of the members, women with their husbands are bolder than me, and dress like an older women. It is being held at a country club. Need advise on wardrobe. Would a darker colored dressy jeans, a dressy top and dressy jacket, suit style, with dressy high heels and dressy handbag, accessories jewelry be appropriate? Don't want to be underdressed, as some of the member can be kind of snooty. Need to keep my budget kinda low. Any feedback and advice would certainly be appreciated. Also short on time. Only two weeks away. Thanks!
