Di's comments reminded me of my experience trying on BB shirts. I found that the petite had long enough sleeves and fit better in the torso but the shoulders were too narrow for me so I went with the regular instead. I think my perfect fit would have been the petite but with regular shoulders. I ended up with the fitted cut which is the middle of the three. My hips are bigger than my chest so this gave me enough room without being too loose at the waist.

TS, I wear the BB's fitted shirts, and I've been surprised by how nice they are on me. I'm both petite and curvy (28FF), and they're really flattering. I wear the regular instead of petite (I'm on the cusp) because my shoulders are a little too wide for the petite.

You're right Dianthus - I am in Canada. I will have to check and see if BB ships here or not. Will have to check out the Hudson Room shirts at The Bay as well - thanks for the tip. I do like the fact that BB has a petite fit.

Shannon, I don't know if I made it up or if you mentioned being in Canada. If not, ignore. If you are Canadian, then the Bay has shirts that are cut similar to the BB but you can try them on to test. They also come in a classic or slim fit and are no iron. I have two or three BB shirts and two of the Bay (Hudson Room) shirts and find the fabric comparable and might even prefer my Bay ones very slightly. That could be because I've gained 5 lbs since I bought the BBs though.

Have you tried all the fits at BB's, Shannon? There are three fits AND they offer petites.

Angie’s outfit post today has reminded me that I’d love some recommendations for good button down shirts. I know Angie (and others) have recommended Brooks Brothers but I have some fit issues: I need a shirt that’s not too wide in the shoulders or bust area but can button up comfortably over a larger mid-section and either tuck in or be worn untucked. Has anybody found a gem of a shirt that might work?

Thanks!
