I thought I could get some relatively subtle highlights and then gradually, from now until maybe the fall, get things lighter and lighter. I won't go as light as what you see in my picture. Natural to start and needing more and more help as the years have gone by. After the twins were born I felt like I needed a big change, so I cut my hair (a lot) and had it dyed a dark brunette. I really liked it, but it's been a year and a half and I miss my longer blonde hair.</p> <p>I know we've got some stellar stylists here. I was thinking that going back to blonde semi-gradually by doing highlights would be the best way to do it. My finances now dictate that I go to the local hairstyling school instead of my beloved stylist. It's a school with a great reputation though, and I always use the seniors. </p> <p>I want to go to honey blonde from this. What should I tell the stylist to do first? Heavy all-over highlights? In what color?</p> <p>TIA! </p>
