Hi,

agrace
The two dresses are similar in quality. I like the length of the AP
dress.
A Muffy dress is a silly joke shared with friends from California.
They would call me Muffy when I would wear this style dress/outfit.
http://i391.photobucket.com/al.....eshoes.jpg
shana
Thank you for the vote of confidence and very kind words. Because of YLF I actually have (and wear) some accessories today. You really flatter me with the Ms. Chanel moniker. I love her style and sensibility.
rue
Great ideas. I love the silver bag and shoes. I do like the shorter dress; I am hesitant about the length. It’s an age thing. I recently turned 53 and I do not have a clue what does work and what does not at this age. It can be surreal at times.
Steph
I can see more clearly now that I am really splitting hairs here.
I have moved through the delusional stage and I am going to return the AP dress and keep the TJMax dress.

Thanks to you all, the dress is in the bag… ready to be returned

I actually prefer the TJ Maxx dress. In terms of going out in the dress at night--where would you want to go? I don't think it would look ideal clubbing or at a college bar, but neither would the AP dress. Based on the dress styles, I think that anywhere the AP dress could go, the TJ Maxx dress could go as well.

It sounds like you do prefer the AP dress. How about putting some kind of clear tape or bandage on the inside of the collar, where it is rubbing against your neck? Perhaps that will help with the irritation and make the dress comfortable to wear?

If the Ap dress is uncomfy, you should return it. I agree with Shana, I prefer the second dress, prefer the way it fits you.
A grey dress is like the LBD, you can use it during the day or at night.. depending on the accessories

I think if the AP dress is uncomfortable, you should return it. I actually like the second one better and I think you can absolutely jazz it up (if anyone can, you can Ms. Chanel!). It's a wee bit on the short side but I think the higher neckline and your gorgeous gams make it work.

I am confused by what you mean when you say 'there is no comparison between the dresses'. Are you saying the AP dress is a way better quality dress??

I bought the AP dress and while I like it I am concerned about the neck. I think if you are not in love with the AP dress I would return it and keep the other one. I think the fit of both is really good. I actually really really like the second one and in some ways it might be more versatile. But if there is a vast difference in quality between the first and second one, then it might be worth taking the AP one to a tailor to see what can be done?

Clarify what you mean so we can be of more help! Thanks!

Hello

I bought this AP dress at the recent sale at Nordstrom’s. I did not try it on until a few days ago.

Love the dress, but it is tapping against my neck.
http://i391.photobucket.com/al.....yDress.jpg
Did anyone else buy this dress and have this same problem?
Maybe I just have a large neck?

Then I was in TJ Max the other night “just looking” (ha) and I found a few basics in the clearance area. One item was this gray dress.
http://i391.photobucket.com/al.....tdress.jpg
It feels great, but it is much more predictable, more of a daytime dress.
Is it just too much like a Muffy dress? No insults intended. Or do you think it can leave the classic behind, go into the night and trip the light fantastic ?

There is no comparison between the dresses.
I know the AP dress could easily work into an evening event.
But it is uncomfortable at the neck and I would have a hickey by the end of a day/night.
Does anyone have a possible solution?

Can you tell I really like this dress?

What's a gal to do.
