I actually like some acid wash / tie dye pieces. I have some things by Raquel Allegra and Young, Fabulous and Broke. Both of these brands do a good job with artistic dye treatments. IMO you need to judge each piece by hand. I have returned some distressed denim (by Rag & Bone even) because that particular piece was not artfully done.

Glad that you ordered it. I don't care for acid wash personally, but this doesn't look dated to me--I think because of the style of the topper, which is very modern. I hope you like it!

Yay. Looking forward to seeing it on you. It's quite different from your solid colors, and yet, it's still pretty much a solid. I imagine the indigo blue will be stunning on you, and I think of it as a neutral that will go with whatever you want it to. The style is very much up your alley.

I suppose I am encouraged by those who think it would work and would be thrilled if those who are not as keen, might see it in a different light styled...we will see ;).

Wow! Lots of strong and varying viewpoints. I appreciate each and everyone of your thoughts.

I posted, because my first response to the jacket was that I liked it. Not loved, but saw potential and found it interpreting. Acid wash has NEVER registered with me before. It's something I have happily ignored. The jeans in acid wash never appealed.

Gryffin, given we share a live of a very similar styling I almost just went ahead and pressed the buy button when I read your comment lol. You see exactly how I could style it and I was thinking it could be a great piece with my black.

Style fan, thanks for the encouragement.

Crutcher, you are always very supportive and I find support in your honest feedback so no need to apologise;).

Shevia and Viva, thanks for being so open minded;)

Janet, thanks for your thoughts:)

Kimberley, thank you.

Lisa, thank you! I have a lot of "associations" when it comes to clothing and I get where you are coming from.

Thistle, I must have had my eyes closed because while I know people were wearing acid wash, I just didn't seem to see it lol.

Angie, thanks for weighing in. And I never considered items like this jacket as having "flounce"... Funny hey.

Shiny thanks fore minding me is the R&B sweatpants. I was besotted with them, which really surprised me. I hadn't connected the two garments and that does make me view them in a wider light.

Betty, Deb and Rachy, I really so appreciate your opinions. Thank you.

Isabel, thanks. Interesting how we all see something a little different. I see what you see here, a slight Japanese influence.

Rute, thank you.

Columbine, thank you for the encouragement.

Gaylene, thank you! Appreciate your openness given your poison eye.

Laura, and Joy thank you.

Texstyle, thank you:)

Donna, would have to try to know I guess, but my other Metalicus jackets all bit me at the right spot;)

Thanks AJ:)

Thank you Caro:).

Well I am feeling very tempted to try this. Perhaps it could be my wildcard? Colour wise I know it would work over the colours in my wardrobe and the style will blend nicely... I realise that it's the suggestion of distressing that I am attracted to, as opposed to the acid wash element if that makes sense. Hmmm?.

Thanks so much ladies.

Was acid wash so polarizing back in the day? I had no idea it could look like this. My concern is where this jacket would hit on you, as it has the potential of making a person look much wider than she is.

I think it's worth trying - the technique they used doesn't really read "acid wash" in the same way it does on jeans or denim jacket - at least not in the images shown. And it could be a fun way to brighten up black and maybe even gray...

What Gaylene said. How do you feel about it. The shape and blue color I can see working with your wardrobe. This acid wash looks like a texture and doesn't scream acid wash for me, especially if it isn't denim.

I don't mind acid wash (for others) but I wish this one had a bit more contrast to it. I agree with rachylou that for me it looks more like a tie-dye kind of vibe, which doesn't normally strike me as your style, Deborah. Nonetheless I can see the shape working well for you so maybe in the right outfit?

Do YOU like it? Acid wash, to my mind, is something you either like, or don't like for any number of reasons--none of which may reflect your feelings. As for being dated, and whether or not it is your style, that is more about HOW you'd wear that piece. And knowing you, Deborah, I have no doubts you would make that jacket look totally current and utterly stylish. I say this as someone who has a real poisoned eye for acid wash and wouldn't even consider it in any way, shape, or form for my wardrobe.

Deborah, I think this is pretty but personally I just don't see it meshing with your style. It reads more Boho to me, and Boho is the last descriptor I would use for your style. Reminds me of something you'd find in Anthropologie or Chico's. More laid back West Coast... rather than East Coast urban (which is how I think of your style).

That said, it could turn out to be a total wildcard for you -- and it is all in the way you style it. How would you style it? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Reminds me of the R&B sweatpants jeans .... those have an acid wash appearance... totally NOT my usual thing! But, worn with black, I like it and it feels more "me."

Nothing wrong with acid wash.

(Debs, replying back to you from my thread - you actually wear a lot of flounce - like this topper - the front flounces. Looks fab on you).

I am not a fan, sorry, but this a poison eye to me. I was so into the acid wash in the 80s, but didn't actually get any until the end of the 80s, and then they were so uncool int he 90s . . . Yep, real baggage there

I'm with Vivian and Janet - sorry to say. The colour itself is lovely, but my eye always sees tie-dye and acid wash as dated.

I don't usually like acid washed items at all, but I really like this piece...it's edgy and deliberate. I would style it as Gryffin said.
