It's true that a few of us who post WIWs fairly often are minimalists when it comes to accessories -- but not all. It's just -- as others have been saying -- it can be really difficult to see the tiny jewellery in photos. But check out Sona for amazing jewellery photos! She almost always makes sure to get a shot of her accessories.

I'm pretty much a jewellery bore -- I really don't wear much. But I do wear earrings every single day, my wedding band, and almost always a cuff bracelet.

Brooches can be difficult, but a while back Debra found some cool inspiration and wore her 50s rhinestone style brooches clustered on a denim jacket -- it looked amazing!

I have a very large brooch that I sometimes wear on an obi belt or a scarf.

I wear earrings daily and wear my mother's brooches as pendants on necklaces.

Yes, I do wear earrings every single day and a small diamond pendant most days. And bracelets from time to time and a bigger necklace at least once a week.

My favorite way to wear my old-timey brooches is grouped together a few at a time. I'll have to try that one day this week and post a photo for you!

I don't wear a lot of brooches even if I am a big fan of accessories (especially jewelry and scarves because I'm always cold). Sometimes I go more dainty and simple and other times I let the accessory take center stage (i.e. statement necklaces with simple clothing).

I have recently started wearing more of my brooches, though, pinned to one of my many hats.

Here's a couple of photos of the cameo my mother received from my grandfather when she was a child (and later passed on to me) pinned to a vintage fedora as part of one of my recent outfits. Cameos are probably the epitome of "grandmotherly jewelry" but I like them nonetheless and find interesting ways to wear them.

These shots do have me accessorizing a fair amount, as is my nature, but I've worn similar ensembles where a pin or simple necklace was literally the only piece of jewelry or accessory I wore.

Hi there, I couldn't find a blog but I googled "delicate jewelry", "delicate jewelry celebrites", etc. and did find some information and images - there was one Harpar's article saying layering vintage/delicate/sentimental pieces was fresher than chunky pieces at the moment.

Here is an article on wearing brooches:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....=Topshop_L

I like the idea of pinning an older brooch onto something really modern, like a clutch or graphic print - I think that would keep it from looking too "precious".

Good luck - sounds like you have some beautiful pieces to play with I personally love delicate jewelry; it looks so refined.

I don't often mention my smaller jewellery in WIWs because it is so hard to see in pictures! Most of the time I am wearing stud earrings, a dainty pendant, watch, and wedding rings by way of jewellery. Today I have on short pearl lariat necklace, but the pearls are tucked into my blouse so only the knot shows, pearl drop earrings, and a classic watch.

I agree with Adelfa - let's see the pieces you're having a hard time with!

Right now Angie hardly wears any jewelry or scarves (except to keep warm) and that probably has influenced us!

I wear a scarf every day because my office is freezing. I also wear earrings every day and a pendant almost every day. (MaryK does too!) They are small enough not to show in iPhone photos. Often I wear one or more cuff bracelets.

I totally know what you mean about making brooches work! Recently I wore one on a cardi over a dress and I liked how it looked.

I bet if you posted your accessorizing questions on this forum you'd get some really good feedback. Inherited jewelry is so precious and should be worn! I would absolutely love to see some of the pieces you're having trouble styling!

always trying on "accessorizing"

Do not see much in the way of more minimum accessorizing on the WIW here. I am talking about the just a small necklace to add a little bit of color like with a beige blouse to add color near face, just the right earrings to compliment an outfit, small gold to pick up on the gold buttons on a jacket, or things like is it ok to wear silver earrings with a jacket that has gold buttons.

Most of the accessorizing on here I see are things like the big clutches, belt buckles with the part tucks, sometimes the statement necklace, etc. Since there are some of us older ladies on here maybe we can give some advice on accessorizing in other ways. Some of us have things like moms or grandma jewelry, but like me we don't wear it. Sometimes I do wear my inherited jewelry, or a vintage piece, but it is usually with something like semi formal attire. Couple of times I tried the lapel pins like I used to wear in the 70's, or a broach like my mom wore to church when I was little, but it feels stupid so don't any more.

Smaller jewelry pieces may not be on trend, but is not frumpy either and can add a nice touch, just as a small piece of art or a pillow on a sofa can give a room just the right touch.

Anyone know any blogs or such about accessorizing with jewelry?
