The weather was horrible here with fierce winds and driving rain. Our annual parade through downtown was squeezed into the gym. Families still came. The band still played, the kids still had fun. It was kind of crazy.<br />&nbsp; JAileen, it was oddly very warm at 62 with the temp rising overnight. This morning it is still blowing and howling out there, but 67. That will change. It will be down to 36 by tomorrow morning.<br />&nbsp; Carla, thank you, you are so kind. I like your idea of wearing my necklace more during the next 2 months...a festive time of year.<br />&nbsp; Oh Joy, your post made me laugh. I can picture your grandkids and they must have been adorable! How can anyone mistake Dino Wonder Woman for a chicken? One of my students wore an adorable woodpecker costume, complete with a very hard bill. My costume box did not make the move and I miss it this time of year. I wore an old graphic tee of a hearse and head band with bouncy jack-o- lanterns. The grandkids liked it but were more into showing off their dinosaur costumes. The older made an adorable “Buddy” who has a dinosaur train. The little one was a Wonder Woman/ pink dinosaur hybrid complete with cape. They toured a nursing home for senior citizens with their preschool. Someone called Dino Wonder Woman a cute chicken. I had a hard time picking today’s ring. What a fun day. The kids loved my costume. The only problem was that the kids wanted to count to make sure i was wearing 8 crayons. I didn’t anticipate the poking.</p> <p>On to a more serious accessory challenge note. It was Black and Orange Day until parade time. I wore one of my fanciest necklaces with my jeans and boots. You know what? It felt right. Maybe I am beginning to get used to mixing my nicer pieces with casual attire. Today I felt more comfortable than I have all week. Maybe it was the crayons.....I couldn’t take myself so seriously.</p> <p></div> </p>
