Seriously, a coat can make you sweat when it's in the 30s? You have an inner furnace to envy. But my sister has that coat for outdoorsy stuff like that, dog walking, etc. and she loves it.

Ooh, thanks, Isabel. I was looking at that one too. Perhaps I will give that one a try!

Kelly, I have this one in two lengths and I am very happy with it :

I live in MA and I comfortably wear this in 35 to 0 degree weather, especially when it is raining a bit. You definitely need to layer for colder weather.

Thanks, rachylou and christieanne! The pea coat is a good idea, christieanne. I just wanted something that was water repellent too. It seems when I need a warm jacket, it is usually raining too. Perhaps I will invest in better quality thermals and just live with my London Fog

I think you might be too warm in that (well maybe not in middle of night in December or January). I am thinking of investing in a new wool pea coat that is hip length for exactly the type of events you describe. I have been known to layer tights under jeans (vs. wearing a full on long underwear) for that situation. Unless you are going to Candlestick - then you need the puffer coat!

Haha. I have yet to pack away any of my parkas. But I'm known for my unique inability to regulate my own body temp. I should try one of these...

I'm originally from the Bay Area and I think that is going to be entirely too warm! It's a cute coat though!

Does anyone have experience with the LE Down Commuter Coat? I've been looking for something warmer that my lined London Fog and less dorky looking than my ski jacket. I live in the Bay Area so it doesn't get very cold but I am looking for something to wear for sporting events. Is this kind of jacket overkill? The temperature rating is WARMEST -30° to -5° Fahrenheit. Will this make me sweat to death when the outside temps are in the 30’s with gusting winds and I'm walking from my car to the pitch?

Hoping that some of you cold weather veterans will chime in and help me out
