I'm with Aida. I actually picked up a similar shoe in black yesterday. Admittedly, I have a bit of pilgrim funk in my look sometimes, which is how I do them. Also, I think it best to stay away from straight black trousers with these shoes. Not that it looks bad, but it lends itself towards the absence of style. Invites the wearing of worn out pea green fleece and the selling of unlicensed tshirts outside the ballpark

I had a pair of Danskos like this (the Ryders) that I wore into the ground. I love a clunky shoe though!

I like them too, but also find them a little difficult to style. What comes to mind is wearing with skirts and dark tights or slim jeans that come down just over the top of the shoes, but not leggings...the shoes seem a bit more like shoes than boots (at least the ones you've shown do) and to me that is not great with leggings. I'm not sure I'm really any good with this, but I think the trick is to "embrace" the chunkiness and work with it rather than try to fight it.

I vote order or buy a couple of pairs and try them on with stuff in your closet to help to decide, and take them back if they don't work. Or wear an outfit you think will work into the store to try them on.

They look like shooties or shoe booties to me and I love them. I am in a 4 season state and these would work well.

Depends on your style preferences, AT. For me #2/3 would feel heavy due to the style (clog heel, less refined silhouette) and black color. I like the first pair best because it's quite refined, even for a chunkier bootie, and the pointed toe is my favorite. Do you have any other footwear with similar "heaviness" you could try playing around with some of your winter pieces? Or of course you could pick a pair up to try at home; you could even wear a potential outfit shopping to try at a store and see how you feel.

EDIT: I have the pair below and do tend to find it a takes me extra thought to style. But they're worth the effort for those outfits they work in!

I like the first pair best. I think these can be styled like booties. Pants, some dresses, or tunics/dresses over pants/leggings/tights. I think the items you pair them with could use a little heft in them.

They strike me as very clog-like. Things I'd wear with clogs are scrubs, so not much help there. I'm interested to see what other say because I really like this style too.

Personally I love the look. I have several pairs (in different colours) and wear them in winter with my pants and through summer with my pencil skirts. I feel well dressed and comfortable and am very happy with the way I look.
If you own a pair already, play with them with your skirts . . . you might find a combo you adore.
Best wishes.
Denise

I am really liking these type booties. The heel heights and lower ankle heights will fit well with my lifestyle, climate for all winter wear, etc. But they seem to have a heavy chunky look that may make them more difficult to style or is it just me?
