However I think something like classic cashmere is safer to buy at end of season, and have tried to do so myself. But I've noticed you rarely find the really good basics hanging around on sale anyway. Last year Hudson's Bay (iconic Canadian department store) had a great sale price on Lord &amp; Taylor sweaters so I ordered a turtleneck in navy. My shopping pattern -- With certain items (especially footwear as I am a larger size) I find it better to make purchases at the beginning of a retail season when the selection is optimal.
