Thank you, Aziraphile and JayS. Interesting that there are many different fabric compositions on the Dre.

The burgundy jeans stretched at least a size during my test run yesterday. The stretch was fine because I had the smaller of my two sizes on. However, I did notice was how the soft and un-denim like (if that makes sense) the jeans felt as time went on. They lost some of their crispness and ended up feeling more like a substantial stretch pant, but not as form fitting as leggings. Somewhere between leggings and jeans, if you will.

Thank you again for your help!

The Dres do come in different fabric contents so make sure that you compare apples to apples, so to speak.
I have the 98% cotton and they do stretch out. I looked at a pair with the higher stretch composition, but preferred the way the ones with more cotton fit.
Good luck!

I have the Dres in three different washes. They are all 98% cotton and 2% polyurethane , but one of the pairs feels a lot stretchier than the other two. The stretchy pair is a lighter wash and a lighter weight denim, so maybe that's why?

All three pairs loosened up very slightly, but not so much that it was a problem. This style of jeans isn't meant to be skin-tight.

That doesn't sound like much fun at all, MsMaven. Growing jeans are one of my pet peeves. Ugh.

How do you like you white jeans to fit? If you like a looser fit, I think you will be OK with the white ones in the size you bought. The burgundy jeans do not feel like traditional heavy cotton jeans to my hand. They have a denim twill texture but are lighter weight. Maybe it is the high lyocell content? If these were white, I would be sizing up for sure. If they were as snug as the burgundy ones, you would see every lump and bump. Not a good look on me!

Also, mine do not fit the model on the Nordstrom's sight. I bought mine to wear tucked into boots so I wanted a sleeker look. They fit more like loose skinnies on my pear shaped body. Hope that helps.

Good luck!

I'm wearing a pair of Dre 98% cotton 2% spandex that I bought a year ago. I weigh pretty much the same. As I walk around the house they slide off my hips and down, down. I don't like wearing a belt at home. I just bought a pair of white ones with similar fabric content to yours. I've only worn them a couple of hours, so can't say yet. I don't wear them at home--I have two black cats.

Now I wonder if I should have gone down a size.

Thank you, Word Lily! Off to check those out.

I have been wearing the jeans around the house for a couple hours and there is enough stretch that I think the more snug pair is the ones I will keep.

Thanks for your insights!

Thank you for your replies!

Joyce B. it is good to know there is some stretch with The Dre.

Word Lily, I have missed those threads. I will go back and check for them. Maybe we should coin a new phrase like spandex stretch factor and manufacturers can start adding that to product descriptions. :)

Elizabeth what a great idea! I will try that today and see if they are tolerable.

Thank you again for your wisdom!

There have been a couple threads on the subject in the past couple weeks, and the general consensus is: It's a mystery. There's no way to predict which jeans will stretch out and which will hold their shape.

I don't know how the fabric of yours will behave, I am interested as well.

Burgundy jeans have been a highly elusive item for me for several years. These check all of the boxes - great color, good fit, medium rise, etc.

My question is about the fabric content and stretch factor of non-cotton fibers in jeans. The fabric content in The Dre is 55% cotton, 42% lyocell, 3% spandex. How much will they stretch? Will they bag out?

I am in between sizes and trying to decide if I should go with the snugger fit to compensate for the stretch and potential bagging out. I detest jeans that bag out. For this reason the NYDJ Samantha does not work for me.

I would appreciate hearing from others who have experience with R&B jeans, The Dre cut or general guidelines on non-cotton fibers jeans. Do you have a general rule of thumb on spandex and/or polyester content? Do premium brands so a better job containing the bag out factor?

Thanks very much for your insight!
