Thanks TraceyLiz, I shall remember to leave the cardi open. How fun to have a new combo to wear that was already in my closet.

Thanks Puffenstuff, your comment helped me realize that the way I'm holding my arms in the picture make the dress look v necked. So I've added a picture for clarification. Thanks Liz; a jacket is a good idea. I have exactly one coat right now so that's a wardrobe hole. Thanks ClearlyClaire, I'm glad the colors look good; I love Angie's formula of blue, white, and black, but those were three pieces if I remember correctly. So I was curious if a black and white print plus blue could work. Thanks Suz and Cindy Lyon, I see what you mean about the competing neckline.

I love the color combo but agree with the competing neckline comments. I would leave the sweater open for that reason.

The colours are just fine together, I think. Maybe the competing necklines are a problem. Congrats on the weight loss! I second Claire's idea of an alteration to the dress if you love it.

I love the black and white with the blue. Maybe keep the sweater open so it doesn't fight with the white ribbon? For what it's worth, I was able to have a tailor take in a dress down the sides and it only cost $15 (and the dress was lined), so if you really love this dress that's worth considering. Congrats on your "shrinkage", lol!

I'm not loving the competing necklines. I wonder if you could try something with a lower or higher neckline. A jacket might be just right, because in a way the cardigan feels too casual for the dress.

I would vote for trying it open. I feel like the necklines are competing with one another too much with it closed.

Thanks Caro, glad to hear you like the colors. It's hard to tell about the proportions, I agree; time to invest in a full length mirror. I think the cardi may be too long but I'm very tempted to wear it anyway, giving both items a new lease on life. Hmm.

It's hard to tell without seeing a full-length photo & without seeing the cardigan open :) I think the colours are great. The only concern I have is the length of the cardigan with the dress but if the proportions look good then I think it will work

Hello Fabbers, I like this dress but after losing weight the armholes gape a bit, so I'm playing around with cardigans. I have a plain black one that is fine, white ones tend to be the wrong white and look off. What do you think of the dress with my blue Eddie Bauer cardigan? I have black ballet flats or blue navy wedge slingback sandals I could wear with it. I could also wear the cardigan open but forgot to take a picture that way.
