I like capris. Not in all styles, just the right ones. I don't wear them since I prefer to wear dresses in the summer, or baggy shorts.

I personally think ankle length pants make me look shorter than capris do.... I too don't want them to go away, but do wish for the skinnier version as they really do look more flattering. I love having the variety of shorter shorts, bermudas, capris, skinny jeans, straight jeans , trouser jeans, etc...For me that variety keeps me from feeling bored of the same silhouette over and over that I sometimes so among bloggers....
It's the same with skirts, straight, a-line, short, maxi, midi etc...

Not only that, but there are people solidly against capris who are now running around in rolled-up boyfriend jeans!

Angie explains that people have different figure-flattering priorities. For some it's waist definition, for others it might be leg lengthening. I have short legs but lengthening their look has never been my first priority. My DD won't be caught dead in capris because lengthening her leg line is super important to her. We all get to choose what's important to us.

I just bought a pair of just-above-the-ankle brushed twill pants in a lovely coral color. I will post a WIW soon!

Cropped pants, in some shape or form, are always around. We may call them different things, and they may come just above the ankle, an inch or two above the ankle bone, mid-shin or just below the knee. The volume on them also varies by season and style, from full gaucho styles to straight crop styles to tapered and close to the leg. But shorter pants will never go away. There is a huge segment of the population who doesn't want to show their knees, so there always has to be an alternative to shorter shorts.

keep seeing things about capris going out of style. Reason I guess is something about they make women look short, questionable about looking good in them, or such nonsense.
I for one, will simply not stop wearing mine, no matter what. Even though I have enough to get me thru the summer, and warmer months, I am going to purchase more when summer clothes goes on sale. Not taking any chances of not having any if they ever disappear from the stores. And if they do disappear from the stores, what will replace them? Gouchos (always were ugly, never owned any) skorts-wore them years ago, but would not wear them now as I seldom wear anything above my knees, or maybe just try to get everyone into Bermuda shorts.
One of the best things about capris is the variable lengths, from just below the knee to almost ankle length, and the roll up ones are wonderful. I love roll ups for my lifestyle too. Down in the cool mornings, and roll up in the warmer part of the day.
