<p>I did my breakdown a bit differently, Ingunn, because I wear my blazers and indoor jackets more as layering pieces or "toppers"&nbsp;and less as "coats." Although I do wear them as outdoor layers&nbsp;during the few weeks a year when that makes sense, of course.&nbsp;</p>
<p>My leather jackets also swing both ways -- in autumn they are "jackets" (as in outdoor wear) and in winter they become layering pieces. I do find that the white one gets much less wear in winter, simply because its heft and style make me feel more as if it is intended for outdoor wear.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Having said all that:&nbsp;</p>
<p>My coats proper are 6 -- 3 winter weight and 3 spring/ fall weight.&nbsp;</p>
<p>And my Toppers (which includes several cardigans) are now up to 14 -- and I'd still love to add a couple!! So, overall, I have six more than you in this category.&nbsp;Here is my breakdown:&nbsp;</p>
<p><div><b>Primarily Spring/Fall/Winter: 6</b></div><div><br /></div><div><div>Taupe leather</div><div>White leather</div></div><div><div>Reiss navy blazer</div><div>Taupe Elie Tahari blazer</div></div><div>Blue jacquard &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;(SUBTLE PATTERN/ TEXTURE)</div><div>Black kimono (special occasion) &nbsp; &nbsp;(TEXTURE)</div><div>Black shorter “tux” jacket &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (TEXTURE)</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Primarily spring/ summer&nbsp;2&nbsp;</b></div><div><br /></div><div>White denim<br />Blue denim</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Fall/winter only: 4</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><div>Denim with leather sleeves</div><div><br /></div><div><div><b>Cardigans (2)</b></div><div><br /></div><div>Cashmere hoodie (fitted)</div><div>Kenneth Cole light grey (fluid)</p>
<p>I haven't done a recent count of scarves or belts, but I have a lot of both and wear both a lot -- the scarves even more than I might wish, due to needing the warmth.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I have 7 bags, at least one of which needs upgrading/ replacing. But the number feels fine to me.&nbsp;</p>
<p>For shoes, I have 20, but that does not count true gear footwear -- if I add that I end up with 25. So we are very close there. I feel I could add a few to this category and not be overdoing it, since I do wear all except the special occasion type shoes very regularly. Or, where I don't wear, it is due to reasons of fit, or currency -- I like my shoes to be quite current in style.&nbsp;</p>
<p>What I like about your jacket collection is the variety of silhouette you have attained. This is something I would like to do also. Mine are almost all blazers or blazer like in cut. It's largely because this seems to be the easiest kind of jacket for me to get a good fit with -- and perhaps the most flattering to me.&nbsp;</p>
<p></div></div><div><br /></div>

<p>Thanks Kiwigal, I hope you can use some of this as a starting point. The oxfords have been reheeled once, and I will give them another round very shortly. I hope that will help.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thanks, all! I appreciate all your comments.

<p>Very useful.&nbsp; I have several belts but I only wear one.&nbsp; I have had it for at least 10 years.&nbsp; It looks great with my jeans and I always reach for it.&nbsp; It has aged well and the silver buckle is plain but interesting.&nbsp; It is Italian.</p>
<p>My scarves get collected but only a few get worn.&nbsp; Same with my jewellery.&nbsp; </p>
<p>Looking forward to your summary.&nbsp; Thanks for sharing.</p>

<p>I am sure this&nbsp;&nbsp;has been&nbsp;a very enlightening exercise Ingunn, and well worth the effort.</p>
<p>All your numbers seem reasonable, and I am impressed with the number of wears so much of your wardrobe is getting!</p>
<p>I am with you on the scarfs- I too have worn mine mainly just to keep my neck warm.<br />At least half have been purged, and some I am just keeping to decorate my storage space

<p>I have enjoyed reeding your three posts recently Ingunn, although this is the first one I have commented on.</p>
<p>Iit seems as though tracking your wardrobe has been a great exercise to encourage you to focus on what is really working and what is not. </p>
<p>It is so disappointing when a classic expensive item wears quickly like your black brogues. Will re heeling help or is it beyond that?</p>
<p>I will use these posts to help me refine my needs further; whilst I live in a warmer place and work from home mostly, it is still so useful so thank you.

<p>Her is the final post about my wardrobe stats for September 13-August 14. I'm going to write another post soon to summarize what I've learned and my plans for the next leg of my style journey.&nbsp;</p>
<p>If you wish to read the complete series, here are the two first posts:<br /><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/a-year-in-numbers-part-1-tops-shirts-sweaters-very-long">Part 1: Tops, Shirts, Sweaters</a><br /><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/a-year-in-numbers-part-2-skirts-dresses-and-pants">Part 2: Skirts, Dresses, Pants</a></p>
<p>
<div><u><b>9 Jackets &amp; coats</b></u></div><div>Total number: 14. 3 blazers, 2 coats, 1 puffer, 1 parka, 2 trenchcoats (one is waterproof), 1 leather moto, 1 leather bomber, 1 safari jacket, 1 denim jacket, 1 rainjacket.</div><div>This is no more than I need. wear at least 10 of these on a regular basis.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Most worn:</b></div><div>Parka (44)</div><div>Navy blazer (36)</div><div>Navy puffer (30)</div><div><br /></div><div>I think this is a very good illustration of my climate. I need warm jackets a lot more than blazers, but a couple of good blazers are also essentials. My trenchcoats and my coats are next on my list. The denim jacket is also very much in use, and the stone moto.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Least worn:</b></div><div>Black leather bomber (7)</div><div>Safari jacket (2)</div><div>Gray rainjacket (0)</div><div><br /></div><div>The black leather bomber is a placeholder for a better black leather jacket. I find it a bit hard to style, but in fact, I still like it quite a bit. The safari jacket is lovely, but our summer was so warm this year that I hardly wore any outerwear for weeks. The rain jacket is worn and I prefer my navy trench over it. Still, if I'm going trekking, I will need it. I would love to add a great coat for winter.</div><div><br /></div><div><u><b>10 Shoes &amp; boots</b></u></div><div>Total numbers: 28. 3 pairs of tall boots, 1 snow boot, 1 wellies, 5 booties, 4 sneakers, 2 leather oxfords, 5 pumps, 3 flats, 1 flip flops, 3 sandals, 1 metallic stripy sandals. For my climate, this is a fair number of shoes, but of course I don't <i>need</i> that many.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Most worn:</b></div><div>Birkies (40)&nbsp;</div><div>Black brogues Chelseaboots (35)</div><div>Cognac tall boots (30)</div><div><br /></div><div>The numbers for the birkies, are this high because I count every wear, not only every day I wear them, like I do with everything. They have been a staple this season. However, when I packed my travel capsule, I picked a more refined brown sandal instead because I was going on a 14 day trip and only one carry-on, and I needed the most versatile I had. The Black brogues Chelseaboots were new last season. I think they look fab, but they show a lot of wear and I'm not sure they will last more than one more season. Not the best quality or such an expensive shoe. The cognac tall boots are smart casual with a medium heel and I think they are very versatile.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Least worn:</b></div><div>Blue Chucks (4)</div><div>Cork wedge sandals in suede nude (3)</div><div>Snakeskin flats (2)</div><div><br /></div><div>I've kept my most dressy shoes out of this, as the number of wears will always be low anyway. My blue Chucks are a few seasons old and a tad faded, but I still love them. They stay until they fall apart. The cork wedges are great sandals for work wit a retro integrity, and I won't give them up just yet. I think my desire for a more minimal and modern style this season made me pick the birkies over those this year. The snakeskin ballet flats are very flat, and they are a tad too small. I think they are the next pair I'll purge. I'd very much like to replace the Sorel snow boots with a pair of waterproof winter boots in leather.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Belts, bags, scarves</b></div><div><br /></div><div>I have 10 belts, 8 bags and 20 scarves. The numbers are inconsistency collected, so I'm not stating the wears. What I know is that my snake patterned belt was worn to death last fall, but not so much during summer. I now reach for simpler belts in brown, black and navy. The Karen Millen tote and Danier bag have been workhorses this summer, as the Longchamp tote were last winter. So far this late summer/early fall I'm preferring the cognac messenger bag because of the color. I have a couple of clutches in black and white, and I don't need more because this kind of bag is not very practical for me. I want my hands free. The light blue cashmere scarf and the gray wool/silk scarf have been workhorses. I'm not wearing scarves as a styling element right now, I prefer a less textured style.&nbsp;
