Donna, I have tongue pads on my DV mules (two sets!), and on my AS98 sandals (one set but I’m about add a second). They are great!

Don’t forget you can snug up clogs with a tongue pad up top. I’ve had them fall off/fall down after awhile so need to keep rubber cement on hand. Also, the back strap needn’t fit snugly. The back of my Dansko Pros is quite enough to keep them from flying off my feet and I never walk out of them, unlike my silver true clogs even with tongue pads. I suggest testing clogs on stairs since they are a much greater challenge than level ground. Ask me how I know. . .

Lisa, no, I haven’t. I haven’t had any clogs since way before my YLF years! The KD ones look good in the pics but we shall see how they appear IRL. I ordered them from Nordstrom so returns are easy if they’re not right.

Have you had Kelsi Dagger clogs before? I ordered a pair from Anthro a couple of summers ago and was disappointed in how "fake" the sole looked . The whole clog was just not right in terms of looking like a quality shoe but returns were impractical and I decided to persevere. Wore them maybe 3 times then donated them.

Wow! What a great look. I love that top!

I don’t know about clogs. I’m attracted to them too but I’m trying to stay away from shoes that are just for occasional wear. I have many already. From a purely aesthetic perspective, I prefer the styles that have the brass or silver studs.

What a great outfit and how nice to have someplace to get dressed for again! I really like the idea of sling back clogs for you. I hope the ones you ordered work out!

Funny, I think of myself as having low volume feet but I have not had problems with clogs. All of mine are by Lotta from Stockholm. Maybe I just got lucky?? Not sure if any of their styles are sufficiently rocker-y for you, it’s been a while since I looked at their offerings.

Sharan, I like the Cordani sling back clogs but they’re only available in a size 10. Otherwise I’d try those.

The Kelsi Dagger look a bit narrower in the toe, which feels a bit more refined to me. I ordered them to try — we shall see!

Great outfit for your presentation! When I wore clogs, my favorites were by Ariat. They fit me better than Danskos. Ariat no longer make the style I liked; their clogs now are a lower-platform version and, to my eye, more utilitarian, less stylish.

I really like clogs with bootcut jeans and I think you would rock them!

p.s. I just browed through Nordstrom's selection and thought the Cordani ones look less boxy in the toe. And oh, I like those Borns you picked out!

Congrats on the presentation! It's so much more fun to do in person events, right? I moderated a panel in person the other night and found it so much fun.

You looked fantastic -- love the top!

I can't really offer advice on clogs. I own a pair of Danskos but I use them as my winter house shoes/ slippers. I don't go out in them. I find them extremely comfortable for standing (good arch support) but less so for all the walking I do. I guess that's the main reason I keep them for indoors -- i don't mind the look of them, so it's not an aversion to the style.

I see clogs on others and think they look awesome but I can’t see myself in the trend. I was tempted with wooden sandals but they just weren’t comfortable on me. But obviously some people find clogs very comfortable.

we've been back at the office 3 days a week since Oct, and its incredible how much easier it is to get training done and get certain decisions made. but its incredible how much we are still doing thru teams (the microsoft version of zoom) just because the technology just makes it easier.
anyway, i like how the wavey pattern on the shirt picks up the wavey pattern of the bag
i really recommend these Sven clogs. super comfortable and the way they are made, they don't fall off and they don't make that flappy sound when i walk

Thanks, everyone!

Yeah, I think clogs are challenging on those of us with narrower, lower-volume feet. I don't need a lot of arch support and can tolerate a bit of heel, but too much platform and I feel unstable. I've had one sprained ankle in my life and I'd like to avoid another! I like some cushioning in the footbed but it's not mandatory. I'm inclined to try ordering the Kelsi Dagger ones -- the narrower toe is an encouraging sign. I cannot wear shoes with those generous wide round toe boxes -- they look odd on me and don't fit the shape of my foot at all, I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes.

You look fab! How fun to be presenting and interacting in-person again! I love those mules. Of the clogs you're showing, I like #3 best. The fit is key, as everyone has mentioned. You want them to fit snugly (but not too snugly!) on the top part of your foot. Too loose and they won't stay on and you will struggle to walk in them and keep them on your foot, too snug and they will rub, especially when it's humid. Different brands fit differently; e.g., I have found that Troentorps clogs work really well for my high-arched, wide-through-the-toes feet, whereas brands like No 6 are cut more narrow. I don't find clogs to be heavy at all, especially compared to my Docs :).

As Lisa mentioned, the blog Girls of a Certain Age (run by the former EIC of Lucky mag, Kim France) features clogs a lot, so you could do a search on clogs on her blog and see lots of different brands and styles featured.

I have a preference for clog brands for clogs, vs. more general shoe brands, since they seem to know what they are doing when it comes to the fit.

Okay, I will stop there, lol!

Remember that Clogs are really heavy. Standing is ok but walking much in them can wear you out, They do have a distinctive style. A back strap is a good idea . I suspect that it will not show much.

Clogs with back straps, now that sounds like a potential solution to the hazardous ankle turns in clogs or the dreaded flying off clog. Great outfit for your presentation,

Last night I gave my first in-person presentation in over 2.5 years! Zoom has been an amazing boon for opportunities to gather virtually (and an unexpected bonus is now I’m presenting to and judging groups from as far away as California), but it was awfully nice to see people face-to-face again, where you can read audience cues better. The group had about 25 attendees (pre-Covid it would have been closer to 50, but attendance is creeping back up).

It was a gorgeous day yesterday, warm but not humid. I took along a jacket in case the venue was overly air conditioned, but thankfully it was not.

Top: old! Vince Camuto, I think. Tags are gone.
Jeans: Mother
Mules: Dolce Vita
Bag: Bao Bao

I enjoy these mules, and they’re a rarity — a shoe without a back that doesn’t fall off my feet. The small back edge really helps, I think. I also have two inserts in the vamp to help fill the extra space for my slightly low-volume feet.

It got me thinking again that I wouldn’t mind partaking in the clog trend, but I’ve always found clogs super hard to fit. I like the 70s/90s-ish, slightly rock n roll vibe of them. I’m looking at a few options, mainly styles with sling back style straps for a little security on the foot. Any suggestions?
