Thank you for the honest feedback, it really is appreciated. Nemosmom - thanks for the styling suggestions. I think adding green into my wardrobe would be good, and even this green, but not quite so much. I do like your suggestion of jewel colours which are strong enough not to be overwhelmed by such a lot of green. Mirjana - thanks for this tip. The first thing I saw was the blazer - this colour is not making my blue eyes look very blue...  Angie - I am a bit freaked out - how did I put on weight so quickly! That does explain my fit issues. Returned the suit and bought some leggings for the gym from Uniqlo as I do find if it comes on quickly it usually comes off quite quickly too. Yummy salmon and salad for dinner tonight - my boys get chips as well.  Roberta - I think you are right, the proportions are not right on me. Double breasted jackets can be tricky. Smittie - it is hard when something is close and you want it to work. Thanks for pinpointing the proportion issues with it. Janet - yes it is overwhelming me - funny how it is easier to see in a photo than just looking in the mirror. I just see what I want to see sometimes! Gryffin - I packed it up and was not tempted to unpack - that told me it was a definite return. Unfortunately the trousers were not a great fit either...so even breaking it up was not a good solution. I once had a black watch tartan suit and it was the best - so dark green and black are a good combination for me. Now a suit like that is a definite HEWI for me. JenniNZ - Wow - I am surprised that this is the only thing you don't like that I have worn. Thanks for the candid feedback, so appreciated and I feel relieved to have returned the suit. Suntiger - I really do suit more cropped jackets. It is funny how the proportions of this jacket are not doing me any favours. Thanks for pointing that out. Sal - I can imagine you looking great in a more emerald green, that shade is really good on me too. Although for me, a skirt suit is easier in a bright colour because there is more skin on show and less fabric - it really has been an interesting exercise. Gigi - thanks for explaining why it was better with pedal pushers, because I agree, I preferred the jacket that way too. Brooklyn, a green jacket with pink lining sounds fab! That would be so fun to roll the sleeves and show off the lining. I have returned both jacket and pants and felt pretty relieved to not have to bother about trying to get it to work for me. I think the jacket is off. I came back to this thread several times and looked, and tried to see why. As Brooklyn says, it is pulling a bit, but that could be fixed. Otherwise, the fit is good. I think it is the style and the proportions that are not perfect for you. All your WIW:s and the jackets you have are perfection. The red suit you bought lately, for example, is wonderful. This cannot measure up to your standard. It overwhelms you and is a bit "heavy". I hope you don´t mind my honest opinion.     Brooklyn on "A wildcard? Both probably easily fixed. I think the jacket looks really sharp. It reminds me of a Lisa Ho dark green jacket I had in the 90s (before she got expensive). It even had hot pink lining! I do think that long double breasted jackets look better buttoned. Like Janet I wish there were more single breasted styles around. I think they are easier to wear open. If you are not totally in love with the head to toe green colour, could you keep the jacket for wearing with other bottoms and return the pants? The blazer seems OK with the pedal pushers, but I think that is because more of your skin is exposed, making the blazer less overwhelming. The pants look too big to me, but that might be fixed by hemming (I'm mainly seeing a lot of wrinkles and puddling at the ankle). Maybe pin up the hem to see if that helps the pants lie smoother? From what I can see here, the color is OK and doesn't make you look washed out. I agree with what others say about the color. If you're not in love with the color, I would definitely pass. The novelty of the green will wear off after a while, and then you will not reach for the suit as much if you're not really keen on the color. Sal on "A wildcard? K/R" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/a-wildcard-kr#post-2058539 Fri, 06 Sep 2019 19:28:40 +0000 gryffin 2058539@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Bijou - May I ask you, how do you feel in this suit?  You know if you love it.  I agree with comments above, right now the jacket pulls when buttoned, although lifting your arm for the selfie can effect fit.  If you can move the button easily, or you would usually drop the few pounds you gained (realistically) I think that would fix the jacket issue.  The pants are too long and I would fold them under and pin them to make sure they hang perfectly.  On the suit itself - I actually really love it on you.  I had a great green/black houndstooth skirt suit in the 90's which a dry cleaner ruined.  But Bijou, you know if you love this color.  I really like the pants and jacket seperately.  I would love to see those pants with a black turtleneck and black blazer.  I'd love to see the blazer over a black dress with a black and green scarf.  I'd love to see the suit with a chunky black or even white bootie.  This is one of those times where I think too many opinions dilute your opinion.  If you love it, I think it's great.  You already know in your heart what you think, listen to it and ignore the rest of us!!  Janet on "A wildcard? Something seems off about the jacket to me -- it seems a little overwhelming on you, to my eye. But I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of the double-breasted style, and I think it's kind of hard to wear. (I love that long jackets are trending but hate that so many are double breasted.) I personally really like the color, but I'm not sure about a full suit in it. It's a lot of green, ya know? I like it more with the pedal pushers! Stay at the mirror and close your eyes for few seconds then open and if you fist see your eyes at the mirror, that is right color for you, but if you see fist clothes, in this case you blazer, it is not right. Unfortunately I seem to have put on a few pounds in the last few weeks (been travelling with work) - but I do expect to lose it quickly because I am getting more serious with my exercise and booked myself in for extra training over the next few months. Moving the buttons is super easy and not an issue at all. However, if you think the colour is not great, then it seems like a return. MJ - thanks so much for your feedback. Love the way you've styled it with the white and pink.  Can you adjust the buttons a little so that they don't pull when fastened? You are right that the pants need to be hemmed, they are tapered, so they won't sit over a heel and need to be shortened. I was planning on seeing the feedback before getting altered. I have tried it before and waivered. Unfortunately, me waivering about something does not mean it is a definite NO. I have the unfortunate experience that some items that I have been dead certain on and immediately loved, ended up not working so well. Conversely, other items that I went away and deliberated and bought not really sure about - have ended up being much loved workhorses. This is particularly true of when I am dealing with a new silhouette and/or colour, both of which apply to this suit. So me not being sure, does not of itself mean this is a wrong purchase. I took my very stylish best friend shopping who LOVES it on me and therefore it came home with me.  Luckily I bought it from a store where I can get a full money back return. I tried it on for DH who thought it was great - he also loved it - so that is making me lean to keep. I like the stripe detail on the trousers and the jacket is a beautiful fit. The thing that really sold it to me was how it looked with my black pedal pushers - I mean these are so 80's.... Pros - I will wear it - the suit is really practical for my everyday corporate wear - OK this suit is amazingly comfy - sort of like wearing PJs in terms of comfort and the fit is good. The pants may be a tad big, but I like the slouch of them. - It is not black and introduces a new colour into my wardrobe. As much as I love black, all the pants I currently own are black and I would like something different and a bit more edgy. I am thinking this could be the right wildcard for me. - I have lots of tops that can co-ordinate with this - pink, lilac, orange, red, white, black, floral prints... - It is very different from my work uniform - I like the more masculine lines of the suit - yet given it is shaped at the waist, I still feel quite feminine in it - It is streamlined, tailored and unfussy - Jacket is cute with the pedal pushers - a nice alternative to wear in summer, especially on casual dress Fridays - This green is more flattering on me than olive or khaki as it is less brown Cons  - Well I am a dress girl at heart and this is taking me away from my favourite silhouette - Do I look like Kermit the Frog? Honest feedback is much appreciated. Photo 1 & 2 - worn with pink top (I was wearing this with a white suit) - would probably not wear this suit with pink pumps, I do like the model's white heels Photo 3 - Suit with sleeves rolled and camisole underneath (DH's preferred way of wearing this) Photo 4 - the colour next to my face Photo 5 & 6 - jacket with black pedal pushers (apologies for winter white legs - will wear with fake tanner in reality)
