I think you are on the right track to prefer a slim skirt. A slim look under an oversized top is pretty failsafe. Volume over volume seems to be the norm. But I’m sure you could find a kneelength linen wrap- around skirt with a tie or button fastening waist that might be more practical. There seem to be quite a few of those on eBay. I like the collection below because it seems really suited to the heat. Similar to what I'm thinking too. The colour palette sounds lovely . I have been wanting to create summer versions of my winter outfits. Layering but in light fabrics, neutral colours, edgy shoes. Oh, white + light grey + soft yellow is also fab. Great suggestion from Suz to check out Angie's pinboards, Caro and Deb's. I'd also recommend browsing their outfits on the forum, plus WIWs from Lantana and Ironkurtin (she wears darker colours usually, but I think her style could inspire you). Pencil skirts with drapey (high-low hemline) tops could be one breezy option. I am not a summer dressing fan by any stretch! I have enjoyed wearing skirts this winter and I would like to try and stretch that into summer but a pencil seems to be the silhouette that works best for me. I am not feeling the dark and jewel colours for our hot hot summers. I keep thinking of whites and greys, natural and neutral... cotton and linen. Arty, eclectic with a touch of refinery maybe? I am off to see if I can find some pins... If anyone has any suggestions I would welcome them.
