However, I do see the value of the event, not necessarily because kids need to learn how to dance, but because they obviously enjoyed it – and the structured nature of it, with partners assigned so that no one was left out, and suggestions for how to have brief social interactions with partners in between dances is something that I don't think most kids experience at ordinary middle school dances.
