I've also had trouble finding tops I really like this year. I also like to semi-tuck but I usually do that with linen tees and button fronts. My other preferred style is a trapeze style top with a higher neckline in a natural fabric and this year, those have been tough to come by. If they're going to hit me right on the ankle, I want them to be narrower so they look neater. Same thing with the rolled version. I still like the leg openings to be narrower so that I get a neat roll that stays neat throughout the day. So...awesome color but not the right execution for my preferences. A few classics aside--looking at a handful of solid tees here--summer patterns and styles often seem a bit off the next season. IMHO. I'll try to play around with them a bit today with some different footwear and see if they grow with wear as the SA said. If I can't be happy with how they look as long pants, they'll have to go back. Suz, to your question...I think my Summer frustration is with tops, both in my closet and in the stores. Everything is sooooooo long and/or billowy. I like to semi-tuck with most of my bottoms, which means I need tops that hit somewhere around the hip area and are neither too loose nor too fitted. In the photos above, 1, 5 and 6 work well with a semi-tuck (3 and 4 are so long, they have to be fully tucked.). I have one other sleeveless top that also works. Beyond that, I'm staring at tops I like but that don't work they way I want to wear them this year. I used to wear them fully tucked for work or as untucked camouflage for the extra pounds I was carrying last Summer. I keep bringing new tops home, but they don't pass the home try-on test.
