Beautifully done! You use your items well, so nothing is wasted, and everything works together beautifully. The citron sneaks are a great choice -- updated and spunky, but practically. Actually, as of your footwear is stellar.

4,6,8, and 12 are favorites!

Thanks Sharan. Yes, I wore the Kut BFs twice, and blush BR chinos once. That zara jacket has blush in the embroidery, so it was a great way to work a bit of blush into my wardrobe.

Wow, you did great with this capsule. What a stunning set of outfits. It's a cohesive color palette with very different looks for a lot of variety. Are the jeans in 5, 9, and 13 different? It looks like 5 and 9 are white and 13 is blush? I'm in awe of that outfit in 13--you look so cool, laid back, and yet the jacket, jeans, and shoes each have a special element that contributes to an overall dynamite look. You are a knockout in that black dress, too. I imagine you were getting compliments every day!

Wow, thank you so much Sara, Angie (Team Culotte all the way!), Mirjana, JAileen, tg (recognize my top? ) and Staysfit.

SF, actually, 5 :) Four would have been fine, though, I just couldn't' decide between two pairs of black and had lots of room for both. My reasoning... at this event, I often do a LOT of walking... on the first weekend it's casual, and in the evenings it can be more dressy (receptions hosted at various places, bar hopping). So I like flats for that. The conference itself, I like to wear shoes that are a bit more dressy, there are several events, including a banquet. This particular time I just wanted to mix the shoes up a bit, but I definitely could have got away with one pair of heels. My Munro Abby's are what I think of as "all day heels" so I'd have chosen them. However, I wanted some with higher shafts to go with the crops and culottes, so that's why I wanted others. I really never know until I get there, just how much standing and walking there may be. And I always need to allow for blisters, which render one pair useless (yes it happened again this time) as I'm often putting my feet into more substantial shoes for the first time after a summer of sandals. The Freebirds were the silliest things to travel with, really, as they are heavy... but I really wanted to wear them a few more times, and they are so comfy!
There, aren't you glad you asked?

It is interesting isn't it Traci. I kinda had my colours pared down for me, by getting a colour analysis of sorts done... not a bad thing, as I do see a huge difference in how these "right" colours look on me, and have no interest in wearing ones that are off. But it was the start of my silhouette explosion. I just attributed it to coinciding with my renewed interest in clothes, and trying to figure out what works, but maybe there's more to it than that.

Well, as someone who is looking to expand her silhouette horizons, I'm incredibly inspired by you!

Suz's observation is interesting. Variety in silhouette OR color. Maybe that explains why I'm feeling the need to pare my colors way down since I'm trying to stretch in the silhouette realm. Food for thought.

Thanks Sally and Sisi.

Suz, you are so wise! I hadn't really thought of that before, I just feel like I'm boring with my colours most of the time. I so admire people with what I think of as a consistent silhouette (thinking Carter at the moment). But it's so true, I love my black, white and navy, and don't seem to be able to get enough of them. In every shape and texture going. Sure, I need a break with SOME variety in colour, esp in summer, but defaulting back to various silhouettes in those neutrals is inevitable.

Yet more food for thought.

It's because you get your jolt of variety via silhouette vs. colours, Elizabeth. I'm much the same. I learned one year (through some or other YLF challenge) that if I merely change my colours (but wear the same silhouettes) I easily get bored (even if I love the colours and get some joy from them.) Whereas I get less bored from changing the silhouette (even if I keep to neutrals). I will miss the colour, but feel, at least, that I'm wearing something "different."

It's a bit inconvenient, to tell the truth, and I often wish I were different that way!

This is a terrific capsule and I see you are getting some wear from the Zara tee! Not to mention the Ecco sneakers which are also my new best friends.

Seeing how well you wear citron with your silver hair tempts me to try it to see if it might work on me now....it never did before, but maybe it will?

Thanks Traci, Jenanded and El Cee.

Interesting observation about multiple silhouettes, Traci. I think this is the bane of my style existence... I just can't settle on a few silhouettes, and as a result find capsule packing hard (although I did feel it worked here, without feeling like I overpacked) and also means my wardrobe is larger than maybe I'd like it to be.

Since I know how many of us enjoy travel posts, I thought I'd share my recent one.

I just got back from a week in Toronto, which was mainly meetings and a conference, with minimal time off for shopping (more on that, later), and YLF mini-meet ups. I posted about the challenges of packing for this in El Cee's challenge thread, but will repeat what I said here as I'm sure most of you didn't see that.

This week needs a ton of
changes of clothes, and always throws me a curve ball. One year the
weather did something totally not forecast and was unseasonably hot.
One year I sprained my ankle and had to rethink my outfits to go with
flats and a nice bandage. One year I got a blister from too much
walking on day 0 and that put a pair of good (dressy) shoes out of the
running. That kind of thing. Not to mention you never know about AC!
So my challenge was to put together a great capsule for this.

Day 1:

1-2: Travel,

3: Shopping (and meeting Carla for lunch!), Meeting, Going out for drinks

Day 2:

4: Meeting, shopping

5: Dinner

Day 3:

6: Morning free, afternoon bus tour of the city

7: Reception(s)

Day 4:

8: Conference

9-10: Conference event in evening (seeing Jim Cuddy play, with his trio, at the Casa Loma... what a treat)

Day 5:

11: Conference,

12: walking tour of some geeky transportation stuff

13: Yet another reception

Day 6:

14: Conference, at which I was presenting

15-16: Evening dinner

Day 7

17: Travel

I was really pleased with how this all turned out. I was also really pleased to have thought it all through before I left, and had it all in order in my stylebook app... things were SO busy, to have to think about what to wear on top of everything else would have been a stress, not fun.

Got tons of compliments on my sneaks!

My bag was one from Danier, in finds, ,plus a small black crossbody for the evenings.
