Thanks for the comments. Yes, I think it has already been helpful just in finding the right combinations and how I feel wearing my clothes each day. And the effort is guided, so not as frustrating or tedious.

When I apply the descriptors to an outfit, and it passes muster, and it also passes the "happy" test, then in my book it's a successful choice.

Great for you! The rubric is surely a helpful tool to make your own style preferences stand out more clearly I've seen several making a rubric and finding it helpful. I havn't been able to figure one out myself yet

Sounds good! I heard Clinton say on WNTW that it was better to concentrate on what you aspire to (as it was more accurate and definable) than what you didn't want to look like. I thought that was interesting and I've been thinking about it a lot. Would you consider your style to be primarily Modern Classic then?

Sounds like a great rubric and I think its pretty smart to also list the looks you definitely don't want.

I''ve been watching my outfit choices the last few weeks, and trying to define a rubric as some have been doing. I worked on picking the characteristics of the outfits I especially like and feel good and happy wearing.

I wish I'd been taking more photos, but life has been a rat race. So I will work on that, too.

I have discovered I feel "right" wearing an outfit following this formula:

Makes me look or at least feel slim and/or leggy.
Feminine touch but not girly.
Low contrast.
Modern/trend/unique touch, could be main ingredient or accessory.
Polished casual.

I also made a huge, long list of the things I do NOT want to look like, or consist of, such as boho, prep, bombshell, earthy, etc. That was kind of helpful, too.

In any case, following the rubric has helped me to have fewer days when I wonder how my outfit turned out to be sort of "wrong", if you know what I mean. Thanks for listening.
