Ten-year-old boys are the best. They are still young enough to hug you back, they make you laugh at their silly jokes, and they view the world with such curiosity and wonder that it is a delight to be around them. Best of all, they grow into fine men that make you proud of how caring they are around their wives and their children. The teenage years can be a bit of a challenge, but, if you have a good relationship now, both of you will work out the knotty bits. And keep hugging him, even when you get startled at feeling a beard brushing against your face. From when he was little he always wanted a Swiss Army knife / pocket knife thing because his Dad has one, so when he was 5 DH told him that he had one put away for him and we would give it to him when he turned 10. Well we gave it to him this morning and he burst into tears and hugged his dad like crazy! (Just for the record he is to keep it at home and it doesn't leave the house).</p> <p>He is such a delight. He is funny, clever, forthright and for the most part a kind and thoughtful little boy. He is one of my favourite people to hang out with and I cannot tell you how blessed I feel to be his mum. It honestly feels like yesterday that we were bringing him home from hospital, it's hard to grasp that he is 10! </p> <p>So lots of fun today and more fun on Saturday when he has his friends for a party.</p> <p>So as of today, when mentioned in any of my posts, my little man will now be referred to as Master 10! </p> <p>xxxDeborah </p>
