It worked out fairly well, but I had too few things for warm weather initially. I knew that I could borrow from my friend later on and I did, but in the beginning when I arrived it was super warm and I was travelling on my own. I bought some linen jogging style pants in Taupo which I ended up wearing a lot, plus the tee I'm wearing in the pic I posted. And a sunhat. I also bought a summer dress in Melbourne, but I couldn't wear it because it needed alterations. I had to throw away my grey boyfriend cardigan in Australia because I was counting six holes in the end, but that was the plan from the beginning so that was alright. I was glad I still had my blush wool pullover with me (which ended up with a hole too and is now sadly demoted to loungewear). I wore all of my shoes equally often (Birkenstock sandals, slip on sneakers and trekking shoes, plus flip flops for showering), so those were good choices. The only thing I really missed was something more dressy for going out. I wore jeans and tee when we went out for drinks in the city and felt very underdressed... </p> <p>When I started my bigger backpack was around 11 kg and my small backpack as carry-on luggage was around 3 kg. And we didn't spend all that much time on the beach compared with other things, but I guess the scenery just wanted to be pictured... I think one of my favourites was #25-26, the beach in Punakaiki. Not because the beach was so spectacular compared to the others, more because I went on a very long walk there on my own and in that moment everything was right with the world - know that feeling? And talking about wildlife - it was definitely a big part of the charm, I mean Kangaroos... But on the other hand I was also glad that we don't have such dangerous and/or poisonous wildlife at home. Of course nothing happened, but we were thinking and talking about it.</p> <p>Lucy, I think that's often the case, I haven't been to so many places in Germany yet that seem worth a visit. </p> <p>Summer, I have. It really was a great experience and we were lucky because we only had some very minor mishaps.
