Witchy, I'm wondering more and more if advertising styling (or lack thereof) isn't getting in my way. I am enjoying YLF so much more than any shop site and I'm thinking this evening it's because Angie styles things for us, shows possibilities.

I'm having same issues this spring. Nothing is interesting me, or has stood out.
I've been searching Ebay for things I want, such as silk blouses.

Now that you make me take a second look in the frame of Country Punk... I think you are right. I loved Coach's winter collection for 2015, and I think the change-over to spring put me on my backfeet. But now I'm seeing the details... Hmm.

I'll give French Vogue a try. I had a looksee at the Barneys website - much improved, the functionality - but nothing caught my fancy. I'm toying this morning with the idea of a look that's less 'street.' But still... Rough. I should go back to working on Country Punk... Lol.

I just inspired by Lisa's link to the street style looks from French Vogue.
Currently chasing the Levi's Re/done line of jeans. They're hard to find. Went to Barneys earlier this week. Only version that fit me was deeply unflattering. Also looking at the infamous Levi's wedgie jean, which seems to have a similar fit for much cheaper, but it's sold out in the color I want.
Also decided I want a bomber jacket
But yeah, it seems to early to figure out the spring stuff

I agree that's a problem, rabbit. I get to feeling done with a trend before it ever manifests in-store.

I also notice... styling is everything. I'll see the same piece in one mag and think 'meh.' Then I see it in another and think 'huh, better than I thought.'

I think for me that 'everything is the same' thing happens because it's an evolution, not a clear demarcation year to year. So maybe first I see something on a runway look, and then it's in fashion week street style looks, and then the glossy mags, and by the time it is fully entrenched in mall retail it seems a year later almost (even though it's not that long), or it's something like the boho 70's look for juniors which seems like it's been going on for years now.

I think it just happens faster/further ahead for someone following the more cutting edge or early adopters. Or I miss a micro trend that happened, oh years before and I suddenly get interested in it for some reason and of course nobody is selling that thing now, lol.

I think right now I'm more consciously intrigued by the possibilities of a different or new to me color, than by that many new to me silhouettes in blouses or jeans or the nu70's thing. But I'm sure those looks will capture me too eventually. I find shoes interesting pretty much all the time though.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I have this problem all the time. In the last couple of months I bought my first pair of leggings, combat boots, tunic, and military jacket. I know...not all that current...but hopefully still in style. It just seems to take me a while to get used to the new styles. Pointy toe lace up flats for one - they look like some kind of midevil torture device! But I'll probably have a pair in the future - after they're deemed "out of style".

I'm just having a look around online, seeing what might be incoming for spring... and everything looks the same to me. I don't believe it's all the same. It must be my head. My eye must just be gravitating to particular things - attention blindness. Does this happen to anyone else? Any tips for waking up one's visual sense?
