Everything is inspired by something else, even flashy metallic footwear. Copies are really popular here (via Aliexpress I am pretty sure), and not many if any seem to know about the original. (I have even asked owners of second hand stores that are selling them.) (That's part of what makes the conversation on cultural appropriation interesting, imho. After the intellectual property thefts, on top of theft of land and of people themselves, there is reason there to be more guarded about "sharing" and when it becomes something else.)</p> <p>&nbsp;I think we often don't know which way trends are moving. I see a lot of women carrying knockoff coach bags in colors that coach doesn't sell and of course not coach quality but it seems totally ok to me. I’m glad no one seems too bothered by the copycat. The bag got a lot of compliments while I was out yesterday! I ended up doing some Christmas shopping at a local arts marketplace and then a couple of local boutiques, and one of the SA’s in a favorite hometown shop (they sell SHOES AND CHOCOLATE!) was quick to comment on the bag and how all the diamond and triangle shapes in the scarf, bag, and jacket played together. I love the design and the color, regardless of the label. It helps me justify the purchase that the design is not an exact copy.
