Around rodeo time (February), I see them more, but then they quickly disappear after that. In the more rural areas, I see them more often because many of the ranchers need them for work. I did my training in temple, tx where there were lots of rural communities nearby. Lots of girls with sundresses and boots. Come rodeo time (February), it is boot mania! There is certainly a lot of fashion involved, but around here it is just as likely to be a pair of mudcrusted working boots. Odessa is a somewhat small town in west Texas. So I would assume it is more accurate than not (although the media does love to play up the Texas cariatures). </p> <p>My high school used to make it into the state football playoffs each year. I mean you're going to see some but it's not like the "norm." It's so darned hot here most of the year, cowboy boots are not great in the heat unless you really need the foot protection out on the ranch.
